Alcohol Ink Flowers

A few weeks ago I saw this interesting technique being demonstrated on a lovely blog Scrapperlicious and decided to give it a go.

Alcohol ink is applied to acetate using the felt tool and then blended with the solution, like you would do on glossy card.

The flowers are stamped on using stazon and I hand drew the leaves with a permanent marker as I didn't have any stamps. I added some extra detail with a white gel pen. They were then cut out and you can use them on anything you want.

I put them on a scrapbook page but you could just as easily use them on cards. They give a kind of stained glass effect.

I think if I make them again I shall probably stick to just a couple of colours, these may be just a bit too mixed up but it's nice to find another use for the inks.

I haven't seen this technique but it certainly looks worth a try. Your flowers are fab. I have all the stuff needed so I should have a go, shouldn't I?

Hi Lisa, Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog.

It's really nice when someone leaves a comment so you can visit them too and I've just spent a wonderful 20 minutes look back over your blog and enjoying your posts.

You have some great things for us to look at and these alcohol ink flowers are no exception. I absolutely love the photos of the real flowers in your garden though. True beauty!

Hi Lisa
Love these flowers, Ihave resisted the impulse to buy alcohol inks so far cos I still am not feeling I'm using all I have to the full but I can see now that I won't last much longer, particularly as I like making my own embelishments. Really like the glimmer mist card too, lovely colours and a great technique. Why don't you email me on the tuesday taggers challenge blog, be nice to meet and swap techniques!
