WOYWW 160

Morning lovely Crafters and dear WOYWW friends. I can't believe it's been a week since I last posted and here we are again for more desk snooping. Where do these weeks go to? If you want to join in all the fun of WOYWW you need to visit our Desk Headmistress, Julia, HERE.

Here's my desk this week.

Back on the dining table as you can see. I spent last night working on this scrapbook layout of the flooded river from last Saturday. I like to be among the family when I craft at night hence being at the table. There's not a lot to see I'm afraid. I've been using scraps up for this layout although the main background is from Prima, one of my favourite paper companies at the minute. I've still got the journalling to do and have been scribbling some notes on a scrap of paper before I commit it to the page.

I hope you all escaped the floods after that awful weather we had up North in the UK last Friday. It was more like November than June with the wind and rain. Our river was very high but thankfully it didn't break it's banks. I walked past this spot today and the Willow is well clear of the water now.

I've also been really lucky to receive some more beautiful ATC's this week. It's so exciting to see envelopes on the mat that you know are going to contain something exciting inside.

These beauties are from Kay all the way from America (on the left) and Sandra all the way from Australia(on the right). Thank you so much ladies I adore them both.

Before I set off on some desk hopping this morning I thought I'd leave you with a smile.

Our DD arrived home from her week in Northumberland last Friday in all that terrible weather and we emptied her case out onto the lounge floor so that all the damp clothes could go straight into the washer. The case was left open to air out and when we came back in someone had taken up residence!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great Wednesday.

Love the layout. All the layers of paper make it rich and add a lot of texture. I also like that you're scrapbooking a less than fabulous moment.

My Tabitha used to love sitting in suitcases, I think it was her way of saying "No, you are not going and leaving me". That photo brought back happy memories.
Oh what a lot of water! So glad the river held for you but what a magnificent photograph for a lovely LO.
Thanks for sharing - Hugs, Neet #20 xx

Hi Lisa, lovely layout ... great photo ... it's scary just how fast a river can swell. We were fortunate and missed all the flooding when we in the north of England. Loved Harrogate though the fact that it was built on hills only became to apparent when my legs started to give out :) Didn't realise we were so near to you - we might have met for coffee had I known! Another miserable and wet day so no garden for me ... however, the Alchemilla Mollis is looking super with the water droplets on it - every cloud does seem to have a silver lining :) Wishing you a happy WOYWW, Elizabeth x #17

Beautiful layout of the river, so glad the banks didn't burst. What is about cats and suitcases? We had one who would try to get in when we were packing..lol

Hi there Lisa I have often wondered what folks do with all the scrap book layouts they have as I have so much stash and card if I did scrap book as well I dread to think how much I have as cards you give away but not really scrap pages.. however impressive flood and great to craft with folk so agree. Thanks so much for popping over and thanks for sharing ~ happy WOYWW! Shaz in Oz. x #50

What a lovely memory of such a dreadful spate of weather. Lovely LO will remind you! I bet F still had great time despite the weather. I always remember coming home slightly early from a rainy fortnight camping in the Lakes due to having no more dry clothes and shoes and my 2 girls cried all the way home as they'd loved every minute.
We all know, life isn't always perfect so we have to make the best of what we have.
Can't wait to misbehave in Cardarian's Happy Place... watch my space next week....love joZarty x

Hi Lisa,

So glad Ms. Doodle bird arrived safely! The ATC from Sandra is just amazing - lucky you!

The river is just amazing - how far up was it? I love all the moss (although I probably wouldn't like the amount of rain it takes to make the moss look pretty).

And cute kittie - making herself at home in the suitcase!

Thanks for visiting me already!!!

I was amazed at the shot of the river, blimey I bet people were sweating at the possibility of flooding. Glad it's subsided now.

Hi Lisa. I think you have had even more rain than we have and that's saying something!!

Cats always find 'something to sit in'! I only have to empty a waste paper bin and Clyde is in it, sometimes he is even in it when I haven't emptied it! Jill x

It’s funny the way cats always have to sit in boxes.
I brought two new storage boxes yesterday to go in the top of my wardrobe, put them on the bed while I went to fetch the steps and BoJangles was in there when I got back, all curled up and ready to sleep. I wouldn’t mind I wasn’t gone 2 mins, Lol!

That’s quite an impressive picture of the river Lisa, but scary in its own way. We’ve been very lucky in the south east and missed the worst of it.

The ArcelorMittal Orbit (Red Curly Tower) is a viewing platform apparently which stands 377ft high and overlooks the whole Olympic Park. ………cost 17 million to build, can you believe that. That’s obviously why they are charging so much to go up it.

Thanks for visiting this week.

Happy Crafting!

Crazy weather still in the UK, are you going to get any summer this year? My MIL was on the phone yesterday from Cambridge and said it was now about 80F and everyone was complaining about being too hot!! I'd take 80F any day, we broke a record here yesterday, it was 101F!! Desperate for some rain! Hope your daughter enjoyed her time in Northumberland and wasn't too soaked when she got home. Wonderful LO and love the cat, so typical!!

Hi Lisa, what a lovely post, I am very late doing the rounds (as usual). Your layout is lovely, except for the water - how awful is that, it is so sad to see people getting flooded out. But, I love your cat, they really do like investigating boxes and things, don't they? Thank you for the lovely comments you left on my blog, really appreciate them. Anne x #57

Your layouts look like they are coming along swimmingly! Pun intended. ;) Seriously they look wonderful...I, too, adore Prima papers right now! And all their embellishments, actually. They have tiles that I'm dying to figure out how to make! They are so awesome! :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving me a lovely comment!
