Well, I'm still here and still standing up, thank goodness. It looks like the lurgy has passed me by, keeping everything crossed and touching wood!!!!!
Thank you all so much for your kind wishes. Everyone is recuperating slowly although Freya gave us a real scare, so much so that after the Emergency Doctor said they were too busy to come out to her on Saturday we had to put her, barely conscious into the car, in her night clothes and drive over to the hospital (thankfully it is only 2 streets away) but we then had to sit in a waiting room to see the Emergency Doctor. Luckily, she said that it was just a nasty viral infection which caused blackouts.
It does make me wonder what you have to do to get a home visit by a doctor these days. In 9 years I have taken Freya to see the nurse for an ear infection when she was a baby and to the doctor once because the school asked me to, to confirm she had German Measles, so we are definitely not panicky parents.
At least when my Hubby went down with it on Sunday night I was prepared for what was going to happen.
Anyway, enough doom and gloom. I do have some craft to share with you.
It was Freya's 9th Birthday last Friday, although she didn't get to enjoy it properly and this is the cake I made for her. We still have loads left as there is only me eating it. I think I shall have to make her another in a week or so to make up for it! Anyway, she had asked for Butterflies, these, along with fairies being her favourite things. In our house, butterflies are fairies in disguise!!
I used one of my new Lili Of The Valley stamps to make her card. These are my new favourites at the minute although I am still trying to get to grips with the colouring. This one was coloured with promarkers. I used my Nesties and dotty cuttlebug folder, along with a MS edge punch, another of my new favourite things!! The base card was from Kanban.
You will be seeing a lot more of these stamps over the next few weeks as I have been using them for every card I've needed to make. I just LOVE them.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are all having a good week.

Hi Lisa,
What a shame Freya wasn't well enough to enjoy her birthday properly.
The cake is stunning. I wouldn't have wanted to cut into it!
The card is gorgeous too. I love that you say butterflies are fairies in disguise!

sorry I have not been by so much lately but I have no laptop and I decied I needed to decorate.

Oh my goodness Lisa, poor Freya, I do hope she is soon on the mend. Such a shame she could not enjoy her birthday and such a beautiful cake, any little girls dream cake.
It is pretty appaling how you have to treck to the out of hours doctors now and it does not seem to matter how bad the problem is. But that seems to be the NHS generally now, no sense of urgency at all.
I seem to have succumbed to the lergi now, not a cold, not quite flu, floating somewhere inbetween.
Take care and keep well yourself.

Oh that cake looks so pretty - too nice to eat. How long did it take to make all those cute butterflies? Love your saying too - very cute!
Hope everyone feels better soon? hugs xx
So glad you've managed to escape the bug but what a shame Freya couldn't enjoy her birthday as she should. The cake looks stunning with all those butterflies and I love the card - I've quite a few Lili of the Valley images tucked away and I'm just itching to get them used!
I despair at the Emergency Doctor situation - how can they refuse to visit a very sick child - so glad it's all turned out ok it must have been a real worry.

Oh bless her! I hope Freya will be well enough to eat lots of cake very soon (and your hubby)! Your cake is a work of art! Totally stunning, and your card is beautiful too! You are probably right, if we lived nearer to each other it would be a bit like when Winnie the pooh visited Rabbit's house!
this cake is just beautiful Lisa but what a shame Freya wasn't well enough for her birthday :(
I do hope that she feels better soon X
Oh, wow, what an absolutely fantastic cake! (You know I love butterflies!) Beautiful card too. Glad to hear you haven't caught the bug, and that Freya & your hubby are on the mend. What a shame Freya couldn't enjoy her birthday - I think she should definitely have another next week!
Hi Lisa,
What a fantastic cake, you are clever - I still have you down for Alex's wedding cake (don't get excited she doesn't even have a guy at the mo!)
Freya's card is gorgeous, that's my favourite LOTV image. Happy birthday Freya.
hugs

Hi Lisa - I am so sorry to hear about Freya's illness, and thank goodness she is much better now. The cake you made for her birthday is stunning, and so is the card. I do hope Freya is now feeling well enough to eat more cake!
Hope to see you soon, but in the meantime, there is something in my sidebar for you!
Hugs, Sylvia xxxx
Wonderful card and amazing cake - that is far too beautiful to cut into! Hope the family are all properly on the mend! Cheers Claire x
What a shame Freya more or less missed her birthday but I bet you make it up to her now everyone is better. Your invalids have my sympathy as I've been knocked low by a virus this week as well. And poor you having all the nursing to do. Hope you get a treat too.
That birthday cake looks absolutely stunning (butterflies are my favourites too). You are clever! Beautiful fairy card as well.
Hugs

Hi Lisa
Have you managed to polish off that cake yet .. .. it looks gorgeous.
I hope Freya is now recovered and that she will be able to have an "unbirthday day" - I think she deserves it.
Your LOTV card is gorgeous by the way. They have a lovely selection of stamps don't they.
Have a good weekend
Love Jules xx
