A Christmas Carol

The Allsorts challenge this week is a Christmas Carol or song and you wouldn't believe what a struggle this card has been. I'm still not happy with the end result but I've run out of time. Even the photo is wonky. Oh dear, must be one of those days.

The stamp is one I've had for ages and I like to glitter the roofs. I used a Sakura glue pen this time and after it had dried the glitter just rubbed off so back to the trusty wet glue and a fine nib. My hand shakes that much when I'm trying to do fine lines I find it really hard to control so it's not as good as I would have liked.

The rest of the image was coloured with watercolour pencils.

The backing sheet music was printed of the computer and coloured with distress inks. I've got to thank my Hubby for that idea!!

The green backing is from the Graphicus Christmas CD.

Short and sweet today. I've bored you enough this week with my ramblings.

I hope your week has gone well and wish you a lovely weekend. Apparently there could be snow!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Its a lovely card again Lisa and the sheet music is a great idea! Think we will have wet and windy again as we don't get snow here! Have a good weekend.

Hi Lisa. Tricky one! Isn't it irritating when you know what you want to do but it just doesn't seem to go right? I wouldn't worry, though, because I think this works fine. Good idea to print off the music, & the stamp illustrates it perfectly. I like the colours you've used.

Have a good weekend. Lx

I love it Lisa, but know just what you mean that sometimes you are just never happy with the end result.

Clever hubby coming up with that ide, it works really well, might need to pinch that idea as I was looking for some music paper the other day and gave up on the card in the end - dare I say the whole card idea started with some charms I found in the £1 shop of musical instruments. Problem is I think I need to but a sutiable stamp to go with them. Makes it a pretty expensive card I guess.

Thank you for joining us at Allsorts this week.

I like this card, but I know what you mean when you aren't happy with something. I borrowed this stamp last year to make a few cards and I stamped it and embossed with gold powder, I then coloured with Twinkling H2o type paints in blue and gold, they looked fab I thought :) It is a lovely stamp.

Great card Lisa - your musical bp is something I've been trying to find. Why? Because this weeks Tanda Teaser is called musical Christmas and your card would be excellent for it.

This is lovely - you know - I think I might have that stamp somewhere - or one very similar, bought in the days v=before I discovered that stampong wasn't my thing! you've (almost) inspired me to go looking for it - but I know I'd only make a dog's breakfast of it. You've made a lovely card and the glittery bits look fab.
Thank you for all the lovely comments you leave on my blog - I've been so bad at getting back to you, but wanted you to know how much I appreciate your kind words

Thanks for the tip about the music Lisa. I've found some that will do fine - not Oh Little Town of Bethlehem - but I could search all day for that - there's so much there.
Thank you again.Have a great day.

Fabulous card Lisa! I am amazed that you managed to glitter the buildings by hand! My glitter always falls off so I may try good ol' trusty wet glue next time.
