More Rain!

I'm sat here typing this listening to the rain again. It's not stopped here all day. Typical, when it's the first day of the Summer holidays!

I'm up to my eyeballs in cakes at the moment so no craft happening again!!! But I thought I'd show you a scrapbook layout I did awhile ago to celebrate rainbows, there has to be one good thing about the rain doesn't there?

I scraplifted the idea of creating a rainbow of flowers from a layout I saw in a scrapbook magazine a long time ago so I can't claim any credit for it but I love the effect it creates. I went further with the rainbow idea by hand drawing my title in rainbow colours and using waterbased pens round the edges and brushing out the colour with a waterpen to blend it all together in one continuous rainbow.

Freya reads the Flower Fairy books and one of them said that there are really fairy wings at the end of a rainbow and if someone tells you there is only a pot of gold, then they are too old!!!! (You have been warned) so this is what I put in my journaling.

Thank you as always for visiting. I love getting your wonderful comments.

It's been raining all day here too, and to compound my misery I have had a flood in my craft cupboard. Your layout made me smile and brightened my day.

What a positive thinker! Amazing how you can get inspired and create such a beautiful LO from our dreary, wet weather. The flowers' colours fade into each other beautifully just like a real rainbow, really effective. Good photos too...AGAIN. I'm with enfys, you can't tell us you're up to your eyeballs in cakes and not show us!! We all love a bit of cake! Love Jane xx

Hi Lisa
What a great page, and a lovely idea. Those flowers make a stunning embellishment for your photo, and love your blended background. We are at Janets (Clarky J) craft club tomorrow at 7.15 making a great mirror frame if you fancy joining us. Be lovely to meet you.

So beautiful! You have brought back my youth now that I know this about fairy wings! I would much rather have these than a pot of gold anyway! Happy day!

Hi Lisa,

I was blog hopping after last weeks WOYWDW
(5th Jan 2011) and came across this LO.
Your LO is really beautiful and it gave me the idea of doing a LO of Rainbow Bridge for a friend who has recently had to have her dog put to sleep, so I’ve scrap lifted it, I hope you don’t mind. You can see my post about it on these weeks WOYWDW but you would like to comment, please can I ask you not to mention why I’m doing the project because it’s a surprise for her and she reads my blog, thanks.

As you can tell I went back a long way looking at your work and it’s really beautiful and I would love to see some of your cross stitch work…….I’m a stitcher too.
