Sheena's 4 Day Deal...Gone!!!

Afternoon lovely crafters. Another dark, wet cold day here in Yorkshire. I hope you have managed to find a bit of sunshine somewhere.

I have been enjoying Sheena's 4 day deal programmes on Create and Craft this week and am not surprised that it has sold out so quickly, they really are gorgeous folders. That faux leather technique that she demonstrated yesterday with the glycerine is a must...I've been out for my bottle today so will be playing later!

Anyway, I thought I'd share a couple more cards I made for the shows.

This first one is using the A4 ivy folder and I used the bleaching technique with distress inks and then swiped a versamark pad over the top and gold embossed the raised areas.

And with this one I used the versamark over the embossed card first and black heat embossed and then applied the distress inks over the top before spraying it all with a pearlescent mica spray.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you tomorrow for WOYWW, the highlight of the week.

Happy Crafting.

Another Sheena Douglass Sneaky Embossing Peek

Afternoon lovely crafters. I hope you are enjoying your Saturday. It's a great crafting day here with some wild weather outside.

I'm just popping by with another Sheena sneaky peek as promised.

This one is embossed acetate using the Beautiful Arches folder.

I swiped Black Stazon over the embossed area and splodged some silks on the reverse before backing it onto black card and then colouring in some of the detail with a black promarker.

Thanks for stopping by and for all the lovely comments you leave. I so appreciate it.

Happy Crafting.

Sheena's New Embossing Folders

Morning lovely crafters. How is your Friday going? We actually had a quick flurry of the white stuff yesterday afternoon. DD got all excited but it was only a shower but enough to turn the hills white. It's flippin cold out there today again but so far dry.

I'm just popping by to share with you what I've been playing with since Christmas. Sheena has a 4 Day Deal starting on C&C on Monday 27th January. It's my birthday so I shall be able to put my feet up and enjoy all her demos without feeling guilty at not doing something more important for once.

She will be featuring lots of new Embossing Folders that compliment lots of her past stamp sets and they are a joy. I hadn't realised there was so much you could do with an embossing folder until you are challenged to make them the focal point and not the stamps.

Here is my first sneaky peek.

I've used two folders on this one. The pink background is coordinations card that has been sanded but the white panel is more interesting. I embossed the card with the flowers folder, coloured the flowers with alcohol markers and then painted the whole lot with white acrylic paint. You have to let the paint dry thoroughly but I then sanded the paint back to reveal some of the colour. The whole card is then triple embossed. It's a technique I discovered on Pinterest and love.

The flower embellishments are from the big florals set and have been black heat embossed and painted with set 5 of the Luminarte silks.

I hope you like it. I have some more up my sleeve but you'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Happy Crafting.

WOYWW 242

Morning crafters and lovely WOYWW friends. Is it that time of the week again??

Here's my desk this morning, yes still at the dining table. My craft room is still full of DT stuff which needs to be in the post tomorrow so I've been spending as much time as possible in there but on an evening it's lovely to get back to my Project Life for a bit of relaxation when my creativity has maxed out.

The photos are printed out and I have a pile of notes that need to be journalled properly so it just needs putting together.

I would like to point out that Toblerone in the background isn't mine if you were wondering. I'm trying to be really good and have even given up sugar in my tea, not sure what I think to it at the minute but I'm into my second week with only the odd lapse so will try and stick it out.

I also finished the 12x12 scrapbook layout I'd started last week if you want to have a look.

Well, that's me this week. If you want to join in WOYWW and share your desk with lots of lovely people, then pop over to see Julia, HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you at a desk near you later in the day.

Happy Crafting!

WOYWW 241

Morning dear crafters and lovely WOYWW friends. Here we are at Wednesday again. These new year weeks are flying as quickly as the old ones!!!

My desk this morning, yes it's a dark one as you can see, is not very active I'm afraid. You catch me as things are starting to happen.

I have printed out a couple of photos of DD ready for a scrapbook LO I have planned. My Mum has leant me her Inkadinkadoo gears system so I'm going to have a play on this layout. Hopefully by next week I'll be able to share the finished page.

The scrapbook magazine is also one I've borrowed from Mum and it's sitting there so I don't forget to give it her back.

There is a note of things I want to include in my next Project Life page and the Bathroom catalogues are sitting there as I've been writing up the scribbled notes I made when we choose what we wanted for our new bathroom over the Christmas holidays. We have to go and have it planned out now and I thought I'd better look effecient rather than take a load of scribbled bits of paper!!

That's it this week although after looking at this photo I am ashamed at the state of that green mat. I have a glass one I use in my craft room and usually bring downstairs when I decamp to the dining table but DT work is happening in there at the moment so I'm using it!!

If you want to share your desk then pop over to see the lovely Julia, HERE.

I hope your Wednesday goes well and I'll be round after work to see what you've been up to.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting.

WOYWW 240

Morning lovely crafters and dear WOYWW friends. It's been a while but I'm back now for good. Happy New Year to all you desk visitors and I hope if you are suffering the Arctic weather in the USA you are managing to keep warm and if you are being battered here at home, you are all safe and warm too. What a winter we are having one way or another.

I have sunshine on my desk, which admittedly was taken yesterday afternoon just before I packed it up for tea. I'm back on the dining table as my craft room was given over to Santa's elves before Christmas and is only just beginning to become organised again.

Santa brought me a Project Life Binder and some page inserts and I'm really loving this more relaxed way of scrapbooking. It makes you print out all those photos that are just sitting on the computer and actually look at them. I am also using lots of unloved stamps again as they are perfect, like that set of alphabet stamps. I also have my jar of ribbon bits out and have been using so of them up.

This is the page I am working on. The photos are of our road wearing it's autumn colours. The title card is going in that blank hole!!! I have to say thank you to one WOYWWer, sorry I can't remember who it was now, who advised me to make my own journalling cards. What brilliant advice it was and so much more fun to create your own. I have also found lots of free ones to download and print out too.

Don't forget to pop over to see the lovely Julia, HERE if you want to join in WOYWW desk hopping.

Well, that's me for today so thanks for stopping by and I'll see you at a desk near you very soon.

Happy Crafting

A New Year.. A New Start

Evening lovely Crafters. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and because I've not blogged for an absolute age I need to wish you all a very belated Happy New Year. I hope 2014 is a good one for you.

My New Years Resolution is to get back into my blogging. It became increasingly difficult to fit work, DT stuff and family things in with keeping a regular blog and last year I really let it slip, so, New Year and a new start. I may not blog every day but I will be more regular and I intend to get back to visiting all my old blogging friends and keeping up with you all. I've missed you!

So to kick things off I thought I'd share the card I've prepped to demo at my Craft Club this week.

I've had the Prima Doll stamps since they first appeared and haven't played with them nearly enough. Paper piecing is great fun. I feel like a little girl choosing what to dress her in but went with spring colours in this dismal weather. (For my regular visitors, yes, I have used this Basic Grey paper before on her but I love it.)  I hope my ladies have as much fun with her as I've had this afternoon. The sentiment is from Inkylicious and the flowers are a spellbinders die. Lots of different techniques to keep them busy!!

Well, that's me today so thanks for stopping by and see you very soon.

Happy Crafting.

This Little Fishy.....

Afternoon crafty friends. You must forgive me for being such a rubbish blogger at the minute, some days I don't even get time to turn the 'puter on. Somebody popped into work yesterday and said "This time in two weeks time you'll be sitting down to your Xmas dinner" I nearly fell off my chair, who pinched all those weeks??

Anyway, I've just popped by to share a couple more of my fishy samples for Sheena's C&C shows tomorrow at 10am and 4pm.

Here's another H20 background. The seahorses are painted in silks and I've thrown in some embossing for good measure.

For this one I made a tag out of some corrugated cardboard which has been painted with white acrylic, some silks and then had some silver embossing powder applied to the corrugated bits. I added some torn book pages to the background and then stamped and cut out the seaweed, fish and shells which have been painted with the silks.

I hope your week is going well so far.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting.

A Fishy Tail

Afternoon folks.  Are you feeling like Christmas? It still isn't feeling very seasonal in The Craft Garden yet, I think it's the weather, it seems more like early Autumn than December. I still have lots of flowers blooming and on a good day can still dry washing outside!!!  I hope you survived the horrible winds last week without too much damage. We lost a few fence panels but nothing serious thank goodness.

I've spent the last few days cocooned in my crafty room getting all fishy with my last lot of DT samples of the year for Sheena's shows on C&C this Friday at 10am and 4pm. The new stamps compliment the last Coastal set beautifully.

Here is just a sneaky peek to wet your appetite

My favourite watery H20 background makes a lovely sea for these elegant fish to swim in. These is also a silhouette stamp of the fish on the plate which I have stamped with h20's on the background.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting.

Sheena's Back On The Tele

Afternoon folks. I hope you are keeping warm on this chilly November day. I've had a lovely day out with a very good friend of mine who I met through blogging, a bit of lunch, lots of chat and a bit of crafty shopping...what could be better?

Anyway, I just popped by to share a few samples I've made for two shows Sheena has on C&C tomorrow at 11am and 6pm. She is revisiting some lovely stamp sets and it's been nice to play with them again. I also hear on the grapevine that she has some packs of Kraft card on the shows. Happy Days!!

I have used H20's on most of the cards and these first two are from the Happiness plate.

I made a clingfilm background for this first card and then black embossed the image on top and painted the arch way in with more of the purple colour. I then painted the orange H20 over the black card to highlight the embossing.

This is the corner stamp on the Happiness plate which I stamped with H20 to build up a pattern. The clear glass bead in the middle has been recoloured with a spectrum noir pen.

The sun caught the twinkle in the H20s. I love these colours.

The rowing boats from the Peaceful Shore plate from the Lakeland sets very simply stamped in Stormy Sky distress ink and painted in with water. The background is the water splats from Ageing Beautifully.

The background on this last one is the same technique but using Forest Moss DI instead. The paint fusion Poppies have been black embossed and painted with H20s. The background is another stamp from Ageing Beautifully.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting.
