WOYWW 281

Morning crafters and dear WOYWW friends. It was so good to be back amongst all you deskers last week. I really enjoyed catching up with everyone so I'm back for more today even though I have to go to work very soon.

Here's my desk as of last night.

I am keeping up with my Project Life....just. I might be a month or so behind but all the photos and journalling are done so it just all needs putting together. I am amazed I've managed to keep up with this all year, I have struggled with a December journal in the past so to keep one going for nearly a year is good going for me. Mind you we love looking back at the pages and remembering stuff so it's definitely worthwhile.

And for those fellow felters out there, this is what we did at class this week, excuse the poor photo but it was really hard to get a decent shot. We dry felted a little robin. He still needs his eye!! Yesterday we went to find a fibre shop we have on our doorstep that after 40 years of living here I didn't know existed!!!! I'll tell you something, after paper crafting, felting is an incredibly cheap hobby. All this only cost £7 and that bag is stuffed with fibres. I just need time to felt it all now!!!!

Well, that's me today. If you want to share your desk with some wonderful people, then pop over to see the lovely Julia, HERE.

I'll be round to see what you've all been up to this week later on so thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting.

Hi there! I can honestly say that while I quite enjoyed a couple of hours stamping, it doesn't fill me with the same love as a bucket full of fabric and yarn does!! So I don't think I'll be taking it up any time soon, I'm just lucky that Julia puts up with me if I fancy having a play :-)
Love your felting, you're really enjoying that, aren't you? I'm impressed that bag of stuff cost so little...there's enough in there to keep you happy for a while!
Hugs, LLJ 21 xx

I never tried felting but it looks interesting. Good job keeping up on project life. I think I was steam rolled on that one. Peg #20

Hi Lisa, thanks for the visit. I love your little robin. I think papercrafting seems to have become permission to make money.
Some craft stuff does seem rather expensive so it's nice to find a craft that's resonably priced.
Have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x 41

Hi Lisa, it's great to see your PL pages out. I should do more with mine although I'm not using it to record everyday life ... well not at the moment ... but using it to record the family history. I thought it would be the quickest way to make some inroad on all the old photos that just need to be in an album. I still love doing 12x12 layouts too ... which is why I did Shimelle's class. Love your felted robin and your bag of fibres. Sadly, because of RSI I wouldn't be able to felt but it does look fab. I'll be sure to say hello to Sheena and Diane tomorrow for you. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #68

I've never tried felting either but it sounds like you're having fun ;D
Congratulations on your successful journal. That really is some commitment but I think it's brilliant and such a reminder to all that happens over the whole year.
Love that little cute robin but oh I hope he gets his eyes soon
Happy WOYWW to you

Your robin is cute! I've never tried felting, but several people including my cousin) are doing it....
You must feel really proud that you've kept 'on top' of the PL. Your book is looking good.
Thank you for letting me have a peep of your workspace.
Have a good week

Love your little robin, Lisa! And I agree - the wool rovings are not that expensive, especially if you shop online, and it goes a long way, too. I got a good pack of mixed colours from Heidi Feathers on Ebay - all Merino which is the best wool for felting, esp. if it is to be next to your skin (scarves) - soooo soft!!

Thank you for your lovely comment. Our 5-wk course came to an end tonight with nuno, and I'm all set for the advanced module (another 5 wks) in Feb. You will love nuno. It's a lot harder work than I thought, because the fibres have to be encouraged to go through the fabric, but not too bad if you don't put down too many fibres. The shrinkage gives some very interesting results if you leave blank bits, and also on the back. It's fascinating. I'll be blogging soon about tonight but was so "in the zone" that I forgot to take any photos till the end!!! Duh. Dratted brainfog.

Thank you for your kind thoughts about Beatrice. She is a lot better now, and eating well, so the antibiotics are doing their stuff. I just wish we could get to the bottom of these infections once and for all - we hate seeing our baby so poorly!

Happy WOYWW,

Hello Lisa, so nice to be back from holidays. It doesn't matter how beautiful the country you visit there comes a time you just want to go home. Love your little felt bird. Felting is such an interesting craft as you never quite know the end result and the touch of fibres is always so satisfying. I have tried wet felting and made quite a pretty flower. I will post a pic.... I still can't believe I made it!! Have a lovely week.

Goodmorning Lisa, thanks for visiting my desk this week... Velting is one of the things I want to try sometime... the little bird looks amazing, as does your desk! Congratulations for keeping up with Project Life... I keep a weekly art journal for the 5th year now and I found that once it is a 'habit', you just can't stop and it is indeed rewarding and fun to look/read back former years. Happy crafting, happy woyww and a hug from rainy and windy Holland, Marit #59

What a fabulous dumfed robin that is - so glad you are getting so much enjoyment out of it - and less expensive than an alternative too.
Congratulations on the PL too, so easy to fall behind.
Hugs & Thanks for the visit earlier - Neet 34 xx
