WOYWW 195

Morning lovely crafters and dear WOYWW friends. I'm back on the register this week after getting all those pesky jobs that had been hanging around finished last week. If you want to join in too then pop over to see the Desk Headmistress, Julia, HERE.

It's a bit chilly in The Craft Garden today as our boiler of 23 years has decided to curl up and retire at last. Can't say it owes us anything really but why do they pick the Winter to do it. So it's extra layers and hot water bottles for awhile as British Gas are so busy it's going to be a week or so before we can have a lovely new shiny new one.

Anyway, you came by to see a desk so I'd better show you one.

I am in the middle of more DT work at the minute but Mr Mojo has decided to have a break so I thought I'd have a change and play with some new stamps that were just asking to be inked up. Sometimes a change can spark off the old creativity again. I've been dying to try out some new flexmarkers that just fell into my basket during a visit to Hobbycraft last week. They were the bargain price of £7.50 for 6. They are hair and skin tones, something you can never have enough of I find.

While I was taking my desk shot, this caught my eye and made me smile. Not the coffee cup that had just contained my morning cappuccino fix but the purple liquid in the jar. Bet that would make an interesting colour for a drink. I've been painting with purple H20's and it had made the water a lovely colour. I am also trying to keep off the chocolate and be healthy by munching dried apricots instead!

Right, I'd better go and make myself respectable for work but before I do I thought I'd just share with you the finished Lillybo quilt from last week complete with it's fleecy backing. The sewing machine is now firmly back in the cupboard and I don't think it'll be seeing the light of day again any time soon. Sewing is definitely not my thing but I'm pleased I managed to complete the two quilts for Jo's wonderful cause. They are now packed up and winging their way over the Pennines.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Wednesday whatever you are up too.

I hope to didn't waste that lovely purple water. It makes a lovely wash for a background - although I expect you know that already. Hope you manage until the new boiler arrives and we get some warmer weather to see you through.

Wonder if purple drink would turn your insides purple? Your pens were a real bargain buy, skin tones are most used here.

Oh, blooming heck about your boiler though......I sympathise as ours did much the same a month ago....sigh. It's amazing how cold it can get in the house, hope you've got some portable heaters or something....
But spring is definitely on the way...the daffs are poking through and the catkins are out :)

How strange, I was looking on Lavender coloured drinks on Pinertrest this week. Bet they would have tasted better than yours thought, Lol! (I have a thing for Lavender if you hadn’t noticed)
Your desk is looking great this week and what a fab bargain those Flexi markers were. I never seem to find any nice deals when I go into hobbycraft, well not on the things I’m looking for anyway.
Hope you manage to keep warm.
Happy Crafting!

The quilt is gorgeous and it has been lovely to see how many of you have contributed to the project. You seem to have an amazing range of markers in the UK, we don't have a wide range in OZ. What we do get always costs twice as much as everywhere else. I don't plan to add anything to the painting... once my mind is empty I just drift off to something different. The purple water is very pretty. if it was my desk I would of drunk the purple water and rinsed my brush in the coffee!

Your quilt is fab! I do the same, I often colour for colouring sake to just see if I'm inspired. Colouring is the best for all, helps me cope with pain as I focus on something else. No desk from me, because it's empty or I can't share yet what I'm working on! Take care Zo xx

Hi Lisa, and oh dear, no heating! You have my complete sympathy.

Love the quilt - the central panel is perfect for a child. You've done remarkable well, and heaps better than me, to have made two quilts when sewing is not your thing.

A purple drink - oh no! I've seen a blue one for sale in shops here and always think of paraffin. Purple would be methylated spirits :)

Take care and keep warm. Have a great WOYWW. Elizabeth x #104

Well done with the quilts Lisa. They are both gorgeous and I'm sure someone is going to think themselves very lucky to be the possessor of one very shortly.

You're right about the colour of that water. It's beautiful.

Ooooo! Sending you a warm hug. Do you want to borrow my Boofle hot water bottle Honey?
I thought you took that photo to show me the daisies! Looks great! Those mushrooms look good too!
Fabulous quilts you have done. My first one is still in bits. Need to get a day to do more!
Hugs to you.

If you haven't already committed yourselves, try another central heating company. British Gas were nearly twice the price for the some boiler from a trusted local engineer. I am looking forward to seeing how you use that left over water, it is too good to just throw away. The donkey on your quilt is so cute and someone will really treasure that. thank you for your visit today and your kind comment. xx Maggie #15

Hi Lisa, thanks for your visit and your lovely comments. I've had lots of nice feedback on the ribbon storage doo dah so I'm going to put together a tutorial soon. I'm sorry to hear about your boiler - tuck your vest in your knickers and pull on an extra duvet I say! Your quilt is so sweet and I'm sure it will be very much appreciated. Stay warm MM x #97

Love your quilt! So adorable! I can't sew a stitch so I love to see those that can. I have to use glue dots to apply my buttons! I have not tried those markers, they look fun. I popped below and am drooling over your work on your cabinet. It is so beautiful! Thanks for the kind visit today...Enjoy the week! Winnie#91

Great job on the quilts, Lisa!

I smiled, too, when I saw the two cups side-by-side. I thought sure you were going to say you drank the purple one!! Seriously, I could never dare put them next to each other!

I was surprised by your implication that chocolates are not healthy. I am unaware of that concept and think it must just be an old wive's tale or nasty rumor. Say it isn't so, LOL!!

Have fun coloring your new mushroom image with your new markers and thanks for coming by to visit me earlier! I've been busy on other things this week and am finally getting a chance to do more WOYWWing. I hope you enjoy the rest of the week! Darnell #34
