WOYWW 191

Morning lovely crafters and dear WOYWW friends. I very nearly didn’t join the register this week, time seems to have run away somehow but the thought of not chatting with all of you and sharing your desks was making me unhappy so here I am. If you want to join in the fun of WOYWW then make sure you pop over to see the Desk Headmistress, Julia, HERE.

Before I share  my desk  this morning I just wanted to thank you all for your wonderful words of encouragement last week over my daughter’s art teacher. You reassured me that I was not being a typical  stressy parent. Thankfully DD is not the type of person to take it to heart and it won’t stop her doing her best. She made me a beautiful card for my birthday, but then I am biased!!

So, here’s my desk today.

Not very exciting I’m afraid. I have just been finishing off some cards I’ve been making with one of the free Craft Stamper stamps before getting down to some DT work. I’d already stamped and coloured the images and sorted out the card so wanted to get them done otherwise they’d sit in a box half finished for months.

I spent the weekend having a lovely time playing with a canvas. Again inspired by an article from the January issue of Craft Stamper by  Hels Sheridan and here it is waiting to find a bit of wall space in my craft room.

I have so many stencils that rarely see the light of day so it was great to find a new way of using them by pushing texture paste through. I love the result it gives and will definitely be experimenting further.

I mixed the flowers up with bought and handmade and didn’t have any metal cogs so die cut some and embossed them with brass WOW powder.

Well, that’s me today so thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you at a desk near you later in the day.

Have a Crafty and Happy Wednesday.

Morning Lisa your canvas is lovely. The photo of the texture you achieved is fab. I can see why you would do this again - I might have to get some of that texture paste myself ;-) I lovingly store my craft stamper stamps on the magazines but after seeing your fab card I may just have to rectify that!!! Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 55

Hi Lisa, your canvas is stunning, the colours you have chosen and layers you have built make this a beautiful project. You could never tell that the cogs are die cuts and embossed, they really look the part. I also love using stencils with texture paste the effect is so cool. I think the Craft Stamper mag always has such interesting projects and in the UK they always seem to have great give aways. We rarely get extras in Ozzie magazines, so I no longer subscribe. But I think I might have to check out the UK mag. Have a lovely week.

Oh, that canvas is sooooooo pretty!! How clever you are to create all the layers and textures....I have to admit that I don't understand half the terms that you're talking about!! lack of paper crafting know how, I'm afraid!
I laughed when you mentioned elephants on your comment!! That's just what it looks like...great big piles of dung all over the place. Sigh.....

Wow Lisa, how could you describe your desk as not very interesting - look at that lovely card! And then you just chuck in the canvas. If you're enjoying the paste, have a look for Dreamweaver paste to -it's pearlised and self textured and Scrummy!

Really love your canvas....such an artisitc eye :-) So glad your daughter wasn't put off by the teacher with her art.
I'm rather late in getting round today but have had to wait til my twinnie grandees went home first...they arrived yesterday morning and had their first sleep over without Mum and Dad last night....just magic :-)

Lisa, I love the side shot of your desk! Your card is so pretty. I agree--I have a lot of stencils put away that I've completely forgotten about. Well, yes, I LOVE Downton Abbey, and I've watched it from the beginning. Currently we are on Season 3, and have just seen the episode where we lose Lady Sybil. Oh, that was so terrible!! I am on the edge of my seat until it comes on again Sunday night!! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #104

Wow! Lisa, thanks so much for "roping" in the new recruits. If they contact me I will certainly express my thanks. I've had 3 quilts in by post, plus mine so they'll be starting to get to the children by next week. I have to machine embroider the fabric labels for them as I've offered this to everyone who sends one here.

Well there’s no desk pictures from me this week but I just wanted to stop by a few friends to see they were up to.

That canvas is amazing Lisa, I love that textured finish and such beautiful colours too……you would never guess that Mauve is my favourite colour would you.
Happy Crafting!

Lovely canvas and cards. That butterfly freeby from craft stamper is one of my favourites. Glad you are joining in with the quilts. I cut my squares last night and have been sewing all afternoon and have finished the front panel. Now 'all' I have to do is the edging, the backing and make a bag - doesn't sound too bad if you say it quickly.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

I have not bought a magazine for a long time. I think it is probably time to have a nose to see what is around. That card is so beautiful. It almost makes me regret giving all my flowers to our eldest granddaughter. By the way, she informs me that she wants all my little tiny scraps to cut up for mosaics. I will show my butterfly card later this week. xx Maggie #11

What a beautiful piece of work that canvas is, Lisa. It's stunning. Well done you! As for your desk, it looks very organised.

Thanks for your lovely comment - so glad you approve of my new spoke guards! I am starting to feel better now, after feeling pretty exhausted (only to be expected but sooo worth it - the craft show was such fun!) and we've had quite a week one way and another, with mum falling and hurting her leg, and some progress at last with our house move.

Happy belated WOYWW,

your canvas is gorgeous, the projects Hels makes are very inspiring.. love your colours. thanks for stopping by, yousaid you are making a quilt for lillybo but are not sure where toi start. Can I suggest starting with about 4 colours and just cut squares and arrange them in a pattern. If you have any problems there is lots out there..... on WOYWW or you tube it is easier than you think....good luck
