WOYWW 189

Morning lovely crafters and dear WOYWW friends. Wednesday again. My blogging friend, Sylvia, who I have the pleasure of meeting for lunch regularly complained yesterday that I only blog on WOYWW nowadays and never show any artwork!!! I guess she's right and for that I apologise. The weeks just fly by and I am crafting, I promise, but at the minute am beavering away on DT stuff that I can't share so Wednesdays desk it is again this week. If you want to share yours, pop over to see our Desk Headmistress, Julia, HERE.

As you can see it's not as tidy as last week. I have been playing with my H20's making some backgrounds with cling film. The only new thing I have is my wire cake stand. I spent ages looking for one last year and had given up but just before Christmas spotted one in a local shop for the grand price of £6. Don't you just love a bargain!!

Short and sweet from me today but just before I go I never managed to get a good photo of the square mirrors I made for Christmas pressies but they were similar to the one I have on my craft wall.

This was the original idea inspired by Deby from Inkylicious. Mine has a sentiment stuck over the mirror, I don't want to look at myself all day, but for the pressies I left the middle as a mirror and each one was a different colour.

Right, I'm off to work now so I'll pop back later to see what you are all up to this week.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Wednesday.

Your background using cling film looks really interesting. How long does it take to dry? Love the little framed sentiment ... very pretty colours. All the best at work.

I haven't managed to share my desk for yonks but it's probably a good job, lol! It's an absolute tip as is the rest of the room at the moment. I had to leave a comment about your lovely mirror though Lisa. It's so pretty and I love the stamps you'v e used. The sentiment you have used over the mirror is beautiful. I have loads of these mirrors waiting for some TLC. If I got a move on next Christmas would be sorted, lol!

I am loving your desk today! And your mirror project--beautiful! Can I stitch up that saying--I've never seen it before! Love it!! So is Season 3 of Downton Abbey already over in the UK? Oh dear...you're so lucky! I can't think of one show, here in the U.S., that comes close to the beauty and drama of Downton Abbey! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #119

The cake stand is a great idea - keeping things right at hand and looking so cute while it does so! And your mirror (though not a mirror) is absolutely glorious; beautiful stamping... I love it. Thanks for stopping by, and happy WOYWW!

Your mirror is amazing Lisa, I bet everyone who received one was thrilled with it, especially as they are unique.
Your H2o background is really pretty too. Now that I’m not under so much pressure to make cards I hope to ‘play’ a little more with mine and hopefully come up with something equally as nice….fingers crossed.
Thanks for dropping by this week.

Happy Crafting!

lovely to see you so busy creating and I do love your blanked up mirror... now a framed quote. I have tried cling film with all sorts of paints and inks but must have a go with H2Os... it looks good.
Thanks so much for joining in with LillyBo Quilts project and I'll post full details over the next day or so. The need only be small and simple.

I love the colors on your desk and can imagine how gorgeous they must be in twinkling H2O's. Not quite sure about the cling tho---so you paint on that and then put the color on the surface? The cake stand seems uber serviceable...layers, layers, layers lol. And all the layers you achieved on your square piece are lovely. I'm sure the pressies will be loved. Have a fab week!

great crafting spot and I love that mirror! I had a mirror by my desk and would catch a glimpse of myself from time to time and scare the bejesus out of me so I covered it over too! Thanks for popping by my desk and leaving a comment! It means a lot to me! Have a great week. Vickie #43

I daren't buy anything else for my desk or else I will end up with my craft room moving downstairs into the kitchen, the bad way through the ceiling!! LOL!
The mirror looks great Lisa. I covered mine with metal and am just waiting for the Den to be finished so it can hang up! Ho Hum!
Look forward to hearing from you re the e-mail!

Beautiful work, Lisa! I love the mirror. I have got a stack of these from The Swedish Shop lol! We have friends who go up to Bristol (our nearest one) regularly and they usually bring back some for me! They are a gift for an artist, with such a lovely wide flat area to work on.

Your background is gorgeous, too. Beautiful colours.

Thanks for your visit, and I'm glad you enjoyed all my messy creativity! Wonderwoman came this afternoon and cleaned up all the mess off the floor for me! I had a grand tidy up before she came, and actually managed to clear my side table which is juuust big enough to work on one spoke guard at a time, which is going to save my muscle power no end - working on the floor is NOT doing me any favours lol! I'm feeling much better today, thank you!

Glad you like the zentangles too.

Happy belated WOYWW,

I shouldn't worry too much about only blogging for WOYWW - you're not alone. It IS nice to see finished stuff once in a while and I'm conscious of only usually showing "in progress" pieces so try to throw in a couple of "dones" every so often...

Thanks for stopping by - hope you have a good week...

H2Os and cling wrap sound intriguing, Lisa. I will be checking into that some more. Your mirror for yourself is absolutely gorgeous! What a wonderful gift that was for your Christmas presents!!

Thank you so much for coming by the Playhouse and leaving anniversary wishes! I'm sorry I'm so late getting back to you. I took some time off the computer to celebrate with Mister and now I'm back to making my way 'round.

Hope you're having a lovely weekend! Darnell #64

Hi Lisa, the 'mirror' you've done for yourself is lovely - great colour and beautiful stamps.

I was reminded of the cling film technique recently - Sheena demonstrated it on TV. I think I should keep a list of techniques I've tried just to remind myself to repeat them :)

Still cold here but no snow. The wall-hanging is still up on the wall - I haven't had the heart to pack it away yet :) Elizabeth x #52
