Morning Crafters and dear WOYWW friends. What a miserable morning it is here in Yorkshire today, cold, wet and windy but I know most of us in the UK are suffering the same weather and it's lovely and warm and cosy inside so it looks like a perfect crafting day.
I was absent from the register of Workdesks last week, my apologies to our wonderful Desk mistress, Julia, but as always, you can't stay away for long. I missed my weekly snoop!!! If you want to join in with this lovely group of friends then pop over HERE to find out more.
Here's my desk as of yesterday afternoon, can you see the sunshine!!! It hasn't been touched since then so looks exactly the same this morning minus the cup of tea.
I've been having some free time from DT commitments recently and have been trying to fit in a bit more "me" crafting before they all start up again so you find me with a scrapbook layout starting to take shape. I have recently discovered a very talented scrapper, Heather Jacob. Her layouts are amazing with lots of textures and layers and she's inspired me to try new things. It's still at the very early stages and breaking out of your comfort zone is never easy but I have lots of ideas buzzing.
Just before I go and get ready to brave the rain, yes, I do have to venture out but will be back for a desk snoop later, I thought I'd leave you with a card I made for a friend who asked for a blingy pink thank you card. Something else that's out of my comfort zone but I really enjoyed doing this.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Wednesday whatever you are up too.
Happy Crafting

You'd never guess this gorgeous card was out of your comfort zone - it's fabluous. Just shows you can turn your hand to anything when you need or want to.

Think it does us all good to step out of our comfort zone and I have to say your card is really pretty....just my colours :-)

Gorgeous make there, like you I'm starting to see the ideas of using more layers and textures. Great fun! Take care Zo xx 78
Hi there, just popping my head round the door for a quick peek before I need to go do the day job! Leaving your comfort zone is always scary but the results in the end are usually worth it.

Love the card and layout and Heathers layouts are fabulous arent they. Thanks for sharing - Sunshine Girl no. 57
Sweet pink card! Looks like an interesting LO started there..hm will check out your reference. I really need to get some pages done! Sandi #32
Beautiful card--and I love everything on your desk from the cool way you are mounting that photo to your pretty mug! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #11
Lovely layout and card - very beautiful work! It was pretty chilly in Milton Keynes today so I guess Winter's coming!!! Happy Wednesday #44
Such a gorgeous card, Lisa! I never realised that pink and bling could look so elegant! Your LO looks great too
Love that pink dress card - gorgeous!! And just the thing to make you feel better on a cold and gloomy day!
You are so going to have to stay the next time we have a crop! It was such fun :)
Hugs, LLJ 56 xx
Great card Lisa...the sort that you could re-do in every colour scheme going and they'd all be equally stunning. And the scrapbook LO too love the corrugated board and scalloped edges, pretty and natural...you're on a roll...grab that mojo!!
I love all the textures coming along in your layout.
Hi Lisa, your layout is looking fabulous, I love using corrugated board, don't do it often enough. Your card is simply gorgeous and well worth leaving your comfort zone for! Happy WOYWW, Anne x #41
Hi Lisa, thanks for stopping by my blog today, it's been very rewarding to meet all you lovely WOYWWers! I don't know how I'm going to visit and comment on everyone's desks before next Wednesday though - phew there's a lot of them aren't there?! Well done for trying something new: I think it's always worthwhile, you never know where it'll take you! xx
That is a lovely card, and if it is out of your comfort zone, it certainly does not show. How strange that your friend, Sally, is also a newbie on the Craft A Scene blog. She seems to be on a similar wave length to me with her choice f stamps. Have a great week, playing with new ideas. xx Maggie #65
Hi Lisa, sounds like you are having fun with pieces that you want to do rather than have to do. I know where you are coming from. I love both your layout and card, both very different but put together perfectly.
Thanks for always leaving me a lovely comment, I had more positive news about my grandaughter tonight so I am really hopeful she will now be able to make a speedy recovery, even though we know she has to have more surgery. Thanks for your support.
Thanks also for sharing your creative space. Happy WOYWW and have a great end to the week.

Like the look of that layout there and looking forward to seeing it complete. That card is fabulous Dahling!

Hi Lisa,
Oh, I feel for you Brits; all that dampness. But your complexions are just beautiful because of all the moisture. Now me, I'm wrinkled up from the dryness here in New Mexico.
The card you made for your friend is so perfect! I absolutely love it.
Thanks for visiting me already too!!!
Happy WOYWW

That card is just stunning! Gorgeous colours and bling!
Love the layers shaping up on the layout!
Ohhh gorgeous blingy card and I love the touch of glitter on the dress. I see you have the glimmer mist all ready to spray and splat. You always do such lovely LO and I like the corrugated cardboard. I think of using something different and then I get sidetracked and stick to the old faves. Hope the weather isn't too miserable I won't mention sunshine!!!

It's always good to do things that take us out of our comfort zones sometimes and I love the card you've made...I think I have that stampset too!
Great to hear you're finding some time for some "me-crafting", and that scrapbook page alreadly looks exciting! I don't really do pink bling either - but this is a great card, I'm sure it'll go down a treat. Happy WOYWW, and thanks for your visit!

That is a great card, I love the dress image- so Audrey Hepburn! Thanks for stopping by my blog, I am following you now, maybe you would like to follow me. Have a great week, Barb
Is that cardboard on your layout?? Fantastic! You did an amazing job with the blingy pink, would never be able to tell it wasn't your thing! :)
Great layout, Lisa - a real taste of summer! and the card is stunning - just the right amount of bling, and the text exactly matches the glamourous theme. Such a pretty dress form too, and I can remember my mum wearing dresses like that when I was small! 1950s cocktail dresses with stiff petticoats! Gorgeous.
Thanks so much for your lovely comment and the welcome back! I've really missed you guys recently... Things are not easy family wise but at least Dad seems content in the home. My hubby's been rushing round after us all and I am concerned about him not getting too tired, and my health has suffered too, but I must be feeling better because Mr. Mojo has decided to move back in, lol!!!
Jennibellie's idea for working on a large sheet of paper is brilliant - already my sheet is looking pretty artistic, though I say so myself lol, but from my hubby's expression, he thinks otherwise!!! I'm glad you like my page. It's finished now, if you want to pop back to my blog and see the finished result. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
Happy belated WOYWW,

gorgeous card and layout. I love the pink! Thanks for sharing and have a great week. Sorry I am so late getting around but life calls. Thanks for visiting my blog. Vickie #71
I don't do pink either but this card is brilliant, you should do more. It is nice to stretch the imagination and move in a different direction sometimes and it can be for the good.

A good cuppa always brightens up a day! Great to hear you are getting some 'me' crafting time too. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Buttons #119
Sorry to be so late getting round again. I had a very busy end to the week and am only just catching up with myself.
That LO certainly does look a long way away from your usual style but it’s coming along nicely by the looks of things. I always think that ‘texture’ can be a scary thing when you’re not used to using it in your craft projects. Pretty card too and bling is good, Lol!
Thanks for stopping by this week.
Happy Crafting!

I love the background of your blog, thanks for visiting me. Jane.
Hi Lisa
That is a great dress on your card .. .. love it.
A really interesting workdesk again too.
Thank you for the H2O background post too. You have given me lots of inspiration there. I have a few little tubs lurking around that are not being used to their full potential.
Hope you are having a good weekend.
Love Jules xx
You might be out of your comfort zone with the blingy pink thank you card, but it works and you've rocked it.... wtg you...
I'm off to check out Heather Jacob...
Thanks for stopping by!
Oh my your card and the layout coming along looks great! I really love using corrugated board on layouts. save a few boxes just in case. It's fun to step out of your normal zone at least once or twice, it can be hard but you may discover some new things about yourself. Coffee or tea however, that cup is beautiful too! Tamika #124
