WOYWW 130 and the biggest Christmas Pud in the World.

Morning lovely Bloggers. Here we are at Wednesday again when it's time to share all those delicious workdesks that can be found all over the world on What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. If you don't know what I'm talking about where have you been? Pop over to see our Head Deskmistress, Julia, HERE to find out more.

Here is my mess of a desk today. It's early, hence the lights but as you can see the all important mug of tea has pride of place, next to that cup of peasoup looking liquid which is actually my paint water. Yes, I have nearly mixed them up before you ask!!!

I'm busy getting things done for the School Fayre on Saturday, why do I always decide it's a good idea to try and get another hundred things made three days before the Fayre? I really don't know why I give myself the extra pressure, but my paint fusion wall hangers have been selling like hot cakes lately so I wanted to get some more made before Saturday.

I thought I'd also share the finished Christmas Pud we made last Sunday. My Hubby says it's the biggest pudding he's ever seen. It is a much lighter pud than the traditional one, having no suet but lots of fruit like Apricots and pineapple instead. I also cooked it in the microwave. It only took 20 minutes compared with 6 hours in a steamer. No contest really. We've now cut it into three and put it in the freezer. I think it might well be christened before we get to the big day so I'll let you know how it tastes. It certainly smells good.

Lastly, just to answer so many of your questions last week, this little beauty is a Lantana. This was one of my cossetted plants in full flower in the greenhouse in the Summer.

It was really interesting to learn from my Australian friends that this plant is treated as an invasive weed there. The things we learn on a Wednesday!!

Well, that's me for today so thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Wednesday whatever you are up too.

Hi Lisa. Thank you for enlightening us about the Lantana - it's lovely! Nice messy desk compared to mine - and that Christmas Pudd looks amazing! Please post recipe on your blog or tell us where to find it, it looks and sounds scrummy - and I bet I'll not be the only person to ask :)) Di xx

Hi Lisa, what a yummy looking pud!!

I also like that yummy Lantana! I had one for quite a few years but something got it and I lost it - haven't seen one for sale for a while, must keep looking though.

Mmm.. its windy here (as it has been for a few days), but at least its a bit brighter today with occasional showers rather than the constant rain!!

I agree, you do learn the most amazing things on WOYWW. I didn't know about lantanas for instance. I asked my friends in Brisbane about them and they almost freaked out, huge problem apparently!!
That Christmas pud looks awesome. I'm not normally a pud lover, but yours looks lighter altogether. I could smell the delicious aromas down here in Wiltshire :)

That pudding looks sensational! I've made a cake and we've already eaten it, so that's it now!! Tae and paint water often confused here, not by drinking, but for washing brushes!!

Hi Lisa, that pud looks lush and has made me feel VERY hungry. I'm sure that is why I am so excited about Christmas, its all the food! Those cute cups are measuring cups, the American size, but I thought they were just for large measures. I'm sure MIL will love them anyway ;-)

WOW!! That Christmas pud is HEEUUUUGE but looks delicious!! If only I lived nearer I'd be round to taste test it for you! LOL

Sorry I haven't been around lately but SOOOOOOO much work to get done and a pain in my neck (literally ~ lol) is slowing me down to a snail's pace!!
Hope all is good with you...

Hi Lisa...
What a pudding......sounds delicious!!!! enough to feed 5000...no wonder you've frozen some :)

Regarding weeds...my Dad always says as weed is only a plant growing where we don't want it too and he encourages all sorts of 'weeds' to grow amongst his expensive cultivars and I try to do the same. It's sometimes surprising seeing what flowers when you let it...I actually had cow parsley at the end of my border this year and a smattering of pink campions - blown in from the hedgerows no doubt...

That Christmas pud looks to die for.
We had our school Christmas fair last night ....I tatooed 60 kids and 1 dad and painted and decorated lots of nails....maybe now its all over I can start on my Christmas cards.
Good luck for Saturday - I am sure everything you do will do down a storm! Cheers Claire x

Nice to see some paint fusion going on there! I've done some of this sort of painting but not using Sheena's stamps. The fluid acrylic paint is gorgeous to use, isn't it. Yummy looking pudding! Happy WOYWW. Shoshi - I now seem to be #61 instead of #62 lol!!

Your desk looks busy Lisa and I'm glad to read of your success with your hangings - they are lovely. That Christmas pudding looks amazing and interesting to hear it doesn't include suet and is cooked in super quick time in the microwave - sounds yummy to me - hope you post the recipe. I would never have guessed that your Lantana could be public enemy no. 1 over in Australia - who would have thought it :) Elizabeth x #111

ah the lantana on your desk (or green house) today is the same as the wild weed one I showed you on my blog -it is the cultivated sort which is on our roundabouts in town and grows there all year - assaulted by petrol fumes but also by sea breezes - wow what a pudding this is!! well done you sorry running very late, Shaz in oz.x
