WOYWW 128-Sugar & Spice and All Things Nice

Morning Folks. I hope I find you well this Wednesday. I know we all say it but WOYWW comes around every other day, or so it feels.

So, what's on my desk today? It changes on a daily basis at the minute. I'm in full Christmas flow and today am making some sugarpaste characters to sell at the school Christmas Fayre along with lots of cards and some fabric hearts for which I have to thank my WOYWW friend Lunch Lady Jan for the inspiration.

I've discovered that the kids like things they can buy with their pocket money and it's the parents that buy the cards. The lovely children are my best customers so I have to think what appeals to them. It's a steep learning curve doing Fayres, but I'm getting there.

My DD loved these characters after we saw Ann Pickard making them on Create and Craft and the instructions are so clear in her book that they are a pleasure to make.

Here are my first penguins...

And don't you just love Mr Snowman

I've got choir boys and Eskimos to have a go at now so excuse the quick post. I need to get finished so that I can have a good nosey round everyone else's desks.

If you want to join in with all this desk madness then pop over to see Head Deskmistress, Julia, HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and for all your lovely comments. I feel blessed every day for belonging to such a lovely community.

Oh those sugarpaste characters are soooo going to sell out at the fair!! They're very cute - I especially like the snowman, how could anyone bear to eat him?? Lol!
Hope your fabric hearts sell out too, I'm a dab hand at whizzing around the curves of the heart shape now. I found them tricky to sew at first but practise makes..well, nearly perfect!
Sorry about showing more dolls house stuff - hope the list of requirements doesn't grow too much more :)

Hi Lisa, love your penguins, they are so cute. I watched Ann make the snowman just yesterday and, though I will probably never make one myself, she did make it look really easy. These little figures will definitely appeal to children, but I can see their mums buying them too to decorate the Christmas cake this year. Are you tempted to eat some of the sugar paste as you make the little characters :) Good luck with the fayre. Elizabeth x #78

Ha those characters are so much fun Lisa, I want the penguins!!! I just love penguins - they have such appealing faces!!
Hope that you and yours are ok. Life goes on here. As long as my grass is growing and looking green that is good with me at the moment! With the rain we have had I don't think it could fail to look green. I am actually getting fed up of the rain, some sun would be so nice!

Wow Lisa, they are gorgeous. I don't know about the kids ............. they'd be a real hit with me too, especially the penguins for which I have a soft spot (can't wait for Happy Feet 2). Good luck with the Fayre.

Is there no end to your talent Lisa, you’re always dabbling in something new.

Just love the little penguins and the snowman too they would make great Christmas Cake toppers….not that I’ve made a cake this year. I might just have to drag out the old Christmas cupcake recipe again at the last minute

Happy Crafting!

That is certainly a different craft medium to what I am used to, I cannot sculpt to save my life, maybe thats why I cant paint or draw lol
