What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday 129

Afternoon folks. Here we are at Wednesday again which can only mean one thing, it's time to get those desk out again and bare all!!!!!

Well, not much happening on mine today I'm afraid. I have some lovely new stamps to play with which haven't made it out of the packets yet but that's about all.

I've been busy today doing Housework.... yes I know... a naughty word, but we were beginning to disappear under the dust and although I have a very understanding Hubby who never complains and would get the hoover out himself, I always feel guilty if he does.

I've also brought in my Lantanas to try and get them through the winter. I put them in the Conservatory last year and lost the lot so this year they have pride of place in my craft room so that I can nurture them.

I've shown you mine so lets see yours. Pop over to see our honourable leader, Julia HERE and get desk hopping. I will try and get round more desks than I did last week. Apologies if you stopped by here and I didn't manage to return the visit. DT work has just taken over lately.

Talking of which here's another of the projects I made for Sheena with the Luminarte sprays.
I've become totally addicted to doing canvases, everyone will be getting them for Christmas at this rate, and the sprays are great for adding some shimmer.

I stencilled the pale yellow painted background with white acrylic paint through a leaf stencil and then used a bigger leaf stencil to dab clear ink through so that I could clear emboss the stencilled shape. The sprays then picked out the leaf veins.

I added a Paint Fusion pine branch and cone and painted in the word and then stamped with bubble wrap and various swirls using the daubers as ink to add darker detail. They tend to just evolve and it's knowing when to stop, never easy!!!!! I hope I got it right.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your Wednesday.

Hi Lisa, nice neat desk and your card is beautiful. Perfect! Love the colours and the technique and your painting is lovely.
Good luck with your plants... I meant to ask if your Hoya survived. I have lots of pots of them now and the original one is huge! The flowers are exquisite.

Thrilled to see you have Lantana ;)
You really do need them inside where you are....I just about had mine survive last winter....it was much colder than ususal here....they had been in large pots outside that I had tied fleece round 'cos at the time I could not be bothered to do anything else!!!
I love 'em....always remind me of Greece ;)

aaah yes I have a husband like yours who actually does the big housework as I call it, vacuuming, ironing clothes and I am so blessed to have him. I do the little stuff like cleaning all sorts of nooks and crannies and scrubbing my skin away

Thanks for your comment Lisa... the gnomes are just for a Christmas decoration or garland. They can be made in red/ green etc and you could add parcels, tiny bells etc! Have a go from the template!

Wow Lisa, the things you see on WOYWW _ I never ever thought I would see people going to great lengths to protect Lantana (I had to do a double take and check on your pickie big size to see if we were talking about the right plant here).
You see, it is is swear word here - as it is noxious weed, a few very cultivated ones are allowed in gardens but even then you have to be careful with they go rampant along beach areas if not attacked fiercely, just like blackberries do inland of here. They are ripped out and poisoned if need be!! there you are treating it like and orchid. Mm new aspect on life and hope after all your care they live nicely for you!
Also love the pickies underneath and yes sadly housework is a part of life.

Your canvas is just gorgeous. I'm not brilliant with keeping plants alive and those that live in our conservatory have to survive very extreme conditions :-)

Ah, Lisa, you've mentioned the dreaded H word ... thre's just the two of us and a cat and still the house needs to be cleaned regularly and I haven't got time for it!! Your canvas is gorgeous - love the colours - I'm sure whoever receives that for Christmas will be absolutely delighted. Elizabeth x #81

Oh Lisa. This is gorgeous. I certainly would not be upset if I got this in a parcel on Christmas morning so I am sure your recipients will be pleased. Well done you.
Thanks for your kind comments.
My lemon tree and Geranium have been brought in now too though later than last year! It doesn't seem to be as cold as last year yet!!

That canvas is lovely, I like the mottled background and the painting technique on the pine cone, really effective!!
I'd heard of a lantana, but never seen one. Amazing to hear what Shaz had to say though, many things go wild in Australia and become nuisances. Although I'm a good outdoors gardener, I have the kiss of Death when it comes to houseplants!!

Guilt - the gift that keeps on giving! Lantanas are tricky for me..isn't nice to have some greenery in your room! Lovely canvas..the fir and pine are lovely...totally understand the skill about knowing when to stop. Not a skill I have!
