Sheena Douglass Sneaky Peaks

Evening folks. How has your Monday been? I hope you've all managed to shake off that horrible fog if you live in the UK. We are not used to inclement weather this Autumn are we?

I have been closeted all weekend making DT samples after a box of lovely goodies arrived last week from Sheena Douglass headquarters. It was like an early Christmas with lots of lovely Luminarte mica sprays and daubers, core'dinations card, various stencils and lovely foil rub ons and instructions to get messy.

I never need much persuasion to get messy and that is exactly what I got, getting very strange looks when I popped to the shops and handed over my money with sparkly green fingers!!!

Anyway, here is the first card I came up with.

I sprayed some thin watercolour card with lots of colour and then covered it with cling film and wrinkled it up before letting it dry. The mica sparkle settles into the wrinkles and makes a lovely background for stamping onto. I didn't want to cover up too much of it so kept the stamping simple colouring the image with a brown whisper pen and the moon with an orange one.

The flowers are embossed with Bark Wow powders, my favourite colour at the moment and then I sprayed some cuttlebug embossed card with matching colours and coloured my matting layers and ribbon with a promarker to match.

Sheena will be launching these sparkly lovelies on Create and Craft on 28th November and I shall be back tomorrow with some more sneaky peaks.

Thanks for stopping by. I'm off to enjoy the wondeful Garath Malone teaching those wonderful ladies to sing.

Lovely card, Lisa. Love all the sparkle and the colours you've used. I've used that clingfilm techique to make backgrounds and love the effect. I recorded Sheena's recent shows and have now watched them. I couldn't afford any of the collections at this time - got to save for Christmas - but I plan to buy a couple of them separately just as soon as I can - I want/need the one of the rowing boats by the lakeside and the willow bay herb, oh, and that old raggedy tree is an essential too. Just love Sheena's sketchy type stamps :) Elizabeth x

Boy did I ever pick the wrong time to step down, your box of goodies sounds amazing!

Fabulous creation, as always, Lisa.

sorry I haven't been round much lately but it's been manic with taking over the Crafty Cardmakers blog and just life in general.

Lin xx

Oooh, what beautiful colours Lisa. I love all the subtle sparkle too (I'm not a glitter fan). I'll try to catch the show next week but DD and DGD are coming to stay for a week (if the new baby doesn't put in an appearance before then, lol) so I'll have to remember to set record just in case.

We've got rid of the fog today ............ and replaced it with lots of rain :( Everything is veeerrrrryyy sooogggggyyy, Ha! Ha!

Hugs

Beautiful card, Lisa! I love those lake stamps and that background is fabulous! It has been very wet here. Quite miraculous that it stopped for playtime!
