WOYWW 123 or What 'Orrible Yucky Wet Weather

Morning all. Wednesday yet again. I'm sure someone is winding these weeks on faster and faster. It seems to be time to bare all on my workdesk every other day. It maybe has something to do with the terrible weather we have been having here in Yorkshire this week. It started raining on Saturday morning and apart from a quick glimmer of sunshine yesterday afternoon, hasn't stopped since. Oh how I long for that glorious weather of only a week ago!!

Here is the view out of my kitchen window this dismal Wednesday morning.

Still, it's perfect crafting weather, so onto my desk. You can see my first attempt at an inked panel, which I've been meaning to try for months after first seeing them in Craft Stamper and then all over Blogland at one time or another. The circle Fairy card from the last post was meant to be one of these but the inking went wrong, hence the lengthy process. I think I've cracked it now and today's attempt was fairly successful.

I hand cut a rectangular mask trying to keep things simple and inked it with Bundled Sage and Broken China Distress ink before spraying it with gold mica powder and giving it a quick dry with the heat gun.

The stamps are all from Inkylicious, my new favourite company. I'm in love with all their stamps at the minute. I finished the card with just a simple black mat and some stickles.

While we were on holiday in Italy my Mum fell and broke her wrist and since we got home I've been taking her to hospital on a regular basis to first have a new pot on, then have it taken off and this week for physiotherapy. She has now been signed off and after we got home on Monday afternoon I had my lunch and thought if I don't go and do something with this dark weather I'm likely to doze off which is definitely not allowed so I decided to tidy my craft room. Well, this turned into a huge reorganisation and clean. It is now very tidy and very clean and I love this new storage idea, a shoe hanger that hangs over the door, another thing I saw in Craft Stamper this month. It's a brilliant way of creating extra storage without taking up anymore space.

Well, that's me this week. If you want to join in with all this desk nosiness then pop over to see our leader of desks, Julia, HERE.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have found some sunshine in your part of the world and if you have can you send some my way please.

Weather not quite as bad here but not as good as two weeks ago! Had to bring my lemon tree in on the weekend as it was sooo windy!
Beautiful card you have made there. I have that magazine too though I have cancelled my subscription recently as I don't get enough time to do the projects.
Have a fun week.

Hi Lisa, tell me about the weather ... we didn't even get a week of glorious weather to set us up for the winter ... we just got winter :( Love your masking/inking card - love the sentiment too. Where did you get your shoe tidy thing - saw it in Craft Stamper too and showed Alan who set off to find me one but with no success - even Argos was sold out ... wonder how many CS readers there are in the neighbourhood!!! Anyway, it looks really useful and tidy. Hope you've had a good day. Elizabeth x #53

The weather has been almost as bad down here in the south Lisa and the drop in temperature is really noticeable.
Still, as you say it’s a good excuse to stay in the warm and play with the craft stuff.
I love the card. The colours are perfect because they look all wispy and fresh and work so well with the stamp.

Great new storage too!
Happy Crafting!

Love, love, love your view from the window. The flowers are gorgeous and so is the card, the dandelion stamp is a must have item. Your craft room looks so tidy and I can't imagine how you got time to do everything. Even in sunny OZ it is cloudy and grey today so you are not alone.

Love your garden and the flowers. I am a big fan of these over the door hangers. I have five of them, and use them on all my craft doors. They hold a plethora of goodies, from tools to supplies. Happy belated WOYWW from # 11.

Funny that Lisa cause i had that idea over a year ago and remembered that me and john had bought some cheap storage bags for winter clothing from Argos some years ago and one of those shoe door hanger thingies came in the set, so i saw that someone was using them for their craft punches about a yr ago and thought, hmm...i have one of them somewhere, could i find it? could i heckers like, john reckons its in the loft in one of the 'unopened' boxes up in the loft from our cross country move in 2009, lol, so no doubt it'll remain there for another year till someone like you reminds me again that ive got one, it would be easier to go buy another lmao!!! hugs to you my friend... vick xxxxx
