WOYWW

Apologies for my lack of posts this week. Life seems to have got in the way of blogging, although don't ask me how, I'm not sure where the days have gone. We've also been making the most of this beautiful weather. We've been so lucky this week, after a dull forecast the sun has shone every day. Even the weatherman said he's given up forecasting it because it hasn't been anything like they expected, in a good way for a change!!

If it's Wednesday again it must be WOYWW. Check out Julia's Blog at Stamping Ground to see what it's all about and get sharing your space. Bits and pieces this week on mine. I have been colouring these beautiful Lily of The Valley Christmas images and experimenting making my own glitter card to mat them onto.

Jules shared a wonderful tip recently of using the same colour promarker that you coloured your image with to colour the card to mat your image onto, instead of spending hours hunting round for something matching, obvious really when you think about it. This little tip has sped up my card making no end. I've tried then adding clear ink onto the pen line and embossing with glitter embossing powder and it works a treat, much cheaper than buying endless sheets of glitter card.

Another blogging buddy, Sylvia shared a kitchen roll holder she uses as a ribbon holder in one of her WOYWW posts and I showed it to my Hubby. He then disappeared into the magic shed and came out with this!!!! A ribbon holder made from a piece of dowel attached to a piece of tree I cut down in the garden recently!!! Genius!!

Here's another Christmas card from the ever growing pile. I "borrowed"this idea from my Mum, inking the Cuttlebug folder with Broken China Distress ink using some cut and dry before running it through the cuttlebug. Clear ink is then rubbed over the raised part and silver heat embossed. I love the effect you get. It was then matted with the promarker idea and job done.

Lastly, before I sign off I wanted to share with you this amazing photo my DD took while on a walk in the woods last Sunday. These tiny little mauve mushrooms where everywhere and although I took some photos of them too I just loved this one.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your week is going well so far. Don't those wonderful images of the Chilean Miners being rescued today make your heart sing. Human beings are capable of incredible things.

Wow! Beautiful cards and what a stunning photo! I think Freya has a real eye for it and the low angle shows off all the detail. Fabulous colours. I've only ever seen two purple ones - sounds like a good year for those too!

What a great idea to colour your paper for matting onto. Might try that sometime!

Love your mushroom pic, they are so weird aren't they? I spotted allsorts of weirdy ones on holiday.

The card is fab, love how the silver parts pop out so much.

Erm, I wouldn't say I was high flying with my 2 monitors - just need to look at lots of things at the same time!!

Lovely card Lisa - you didn't find the silver powder needed careful brush removal from everywhere you didn't want it after being inked in the cuttlebug? I always have a static problem that makes me nuts! Purple mushrooms huh - I wonder if they're edible!

I'm not a card maker, but I sure appreciated your tips. Looks like WOYWW has been good to you tip wise. I struggle with ribbon storage, so really like what your hubby did. I was actually here earlier, but got that dreaded 503 error. Just came back to comment and wish you a happy belated WOYWW (#2).

How lucky you are to have a handy hubby Lisa! Mine always says put a screwdriver in his hand and the house will fall down but I think he does it on purpose so he doesn't get asked to make anything, Lol!

Love those little images on your desk and your card is gorgeous. I love the effects you can achieve by inking the folders.

The photo of your mauve fungi is great. Aren't there some fantastic ones in the woods at the moment.
