Making a Scene

Hello all you lovely Bloggers. How's you're Monday going?

There's some strange wet stuff falling out of the sky here today. It seems very strange to have to put a coat on but at least I won't have to water the garden tonight. Our grass is so parched and going bald in great patches. It desperately needs a good drink.

It's perfect weather for crafting and over at Tuesday Taggers, the lovely Michelle has thrown down the challenge to make a scene this week.

My scene has been inspired by the very talented Barbara Gray. I love watching her brayering but cannot get anything like the same results but loved this technique of creating reflections by stamping the trees, turning the paper round and stamping directly underneath without reinking the stamp and then sponging through torn paper to create the hills behind. By using watercolour paper you get a lovely textured effect too.

I've made two of these cards for retirement cards for Freya's class teacher and Head teacher, both of which are men.

Well, that's me done for today so I'll say thank you for stopping by and enjoy whatever you are doing.

Hi Lisa,
Your card is very beautiful. I love tree stamps, they are so versatile.
We have rain here too and it's lovely.

Lisa it's stunning! I love it. I was glued to Barbara Gray on C&C the other weekend, and have tried image transfer thanks to her.

Love your beautiful card Lisa - you've done an excellent job with the tree reflections. I watched Barbara on C&C a few days ago -she's so talented and her demo's are fabulous.
Thank goodness it's a bit cooler in W. Yorkshire today!
Love and hugs, Sylvia xxxx

Oooh Lisa I saw that C&C with Barbara Gray, in fact I kept it on DVD because it was so brilliant! How sad am I!! (Don't answer that!) Really love your interpretation of it! Jill x

This is really very pretty, that soft blue is just lovely.

None of the wet stuff here (yet) so I was out watering the garden as usual....

An absolutely gorgeous card Lisa - the effect is stunning! Our roof is progressing - it's all the problems you find in an old house. Yesterday Angus found a tee-shirt wrapped round a burst cold water pipe in the kichen roof - it's no wonder it's always leaked!!Cheers Claire x

Love the simple scene you've created here - the whole card has a lovely fresh feel to it.

Barbara is so clever I agree and I have her DVD's but have never managed anything I'd show to anyone yet, Lol!

This however, is stunning Lisa and I think I need to try it. I'm much better with a bit of cut'n'dry than a brayer. I love your monochromatic look too. It's just gorgeous.

Hugs
