Time Flies....

I'm so sorry for being a bad Blogger recently. Can't you tell the weather has improved? It's been so lovely to get outside in the garden again and tidy up the winter debris and enjoy seeing the buds beginning to appear. A lovely promise of things to come.

I hope all you Mums out there enjoyed Mother's Day yesterday. I had a lovely day with a cup of tea in bed and a beautiful hand made card and some new stamps to play with. Perfect. We also visited our Mums as well so it was a nice relaxing day. I will share the cards I made with you in a later post.

I've been having another play with Alcohol inks, something I don't feel I've fully got to grips with yet. Sometimes, they work but more often than not I don't like how they come out.

In last months Craft Stamper there was a technique to create landscapes with them by wiping blending solution over the gloss card first and then applying the ink over the top and swooshing it about with the blending tool. By deciding what the swooshing looks like and stamping accordingly it creates little scenes.

I haven't been very adventurous and just used my favourite Crafty Individual tree stamps for both of them but I quite like the results. I tried two different colours but think I prefer the blue one best. I shall definitely try it again with different types of stamps to see what happens.

Thank you, as always, for stopping by and I hope your week goes well.

I really like these, Lisa, especially the blue one. Haven't tried this technique before - I must have a go, when I get chance. Like you, I haven't had much time for blogging lately. Sometimes real life has to take priority, & I'm sure people understand & will not desert out blogs! Anyway, have a great week!

Hi Lisa,
Wow, amazing works of art. The tree stamps are just perfect for this technique.
So pleased you enjoyed Mother's Day. I did too. Having the sun shining makes such a difference.

They have turned out beautifully Lisa, love the blue especially. I tried this technique some time ago, looked a blobby mess when I did it :)

Time certainly does fly by - but it's lovely to see that the sun is making more of an appearance these days. Also lovely to have more daylight hours - hopefully we will have a summer this year.

I like the blue one best too, but then that's probably because blue is my favourite colour!

These are wonderful! I haven't had my alcohol inks out for ages. I might make this a project for the Easter hols. I really ought to take a leaf out of your book and get out in the garden instead of blogging!

Hi Lisa

Seems there are lots of us bad bloggers out there!! LOL!!!

Life isn't all about blogging though - we need to keep in touch with reality too .. .. though it isn't always quite as exciting.

Your projects are lovely - great technique.

My garden is ready when you are LOL!!

Love Jules xx

p.s. The Father's day card on my blog wasn't me being organised - it was requested by someone who is far more organised than I am. At this rate they will be wanting Christmas cards in the middle of summer!!

These are lovely Lisa. I read that article with interest too because I love alcohol inks but am limited as to what to do with them. I haven't tried this yet but you've done them beautifully.

I'm in a similar postion to you at the moment. No time to craft or blog, trying to lick the garden into shape and keep the hose just so in case we get any viewers. Where I've tidied in the garden it looks quite bare as everything is so late this year.
Your scenes are brilliant. I saw that tutorial but really haven't the the time (or the necessary mojo) to get round to trying it.You've obviously got the knack with that technique.
