WOYWW 583

Morning dear Deskers. I hope you are all staying safe and well.

I have a desk of sorts to share with you today.

This is the only craft occurring, more mask making. It never seems to end. I keep saying, well that's the last one and then I get asked for more. I've already had more orders today and it's only 10am.

So not much time for the craft I want to do at the moment. Still we had a lovely holiday from home last week. My other half had a week off so we got out and about and had a bit of normal life which was lovely, Each of us picked a day out. Hubby's choice was the Elvington Air Musuem at York.

It was really interesting even for us ladies and the weather was perfect.

DD chose the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. It was a bit of a rainy day but we still enjoyed it immensely. My favourites were the tigers. Look at those huge paws.

And my choice was a trip to the White Horse near Thirsk. It was a wet morning so we went after lunch and had a lovely walk and watched some gliders taking off and finished with a delicious ice cream.

Who needs to go abroad when you have all this on your doorstep. We take it for granted most of the time but not at the moment.

Well, that's me this week. Sorry it's a bit light on the crafting. If you want to join in with this weekly desk hop, then pop over to see Julia at WOYWW headquarters.

I'll be round to see what you've all be up to later.

Stay safe and Happy Crafting!

Wonderful idea- We never go abroad anyway ( too complicated with my family) - we usually go to Wales or Cornwall. This year were meant to go to Liverpool to meet up with my family but thats been put back a year. We will be doing just as you are around Norfolk/Suffolk. Son wants to go geocaching, youngest wants the zoo and eldest want to go for a meal ( not sure about that - maybe a picnic) . Have a lovely week. Soojay #17

You are so right about beauty being on our doorstep. We had a visitor from Oz years ago and she was in awe of a viaduct. I remember having to stop the car and let her take photos. We might see the beauty of our own country now, but it is a sad way to do it.
You have so many beautiful places around you in the Dales, enjoy it!

Love the fabrics for the masks - I've been making quite a few too! I popped into Hobbycraft yesterday and was amazed at how empty all the fabric/sewing machine shelves were. If there's something good to have come out of al this, it's that people are making stuff again. Lovely to see your days out, I remember the white horse at Thirsk very well!

Hi Lisa, I like your idea that everyone gets to pick a family outing! I might introduce that in my family. My choice would be visiting a craft fair LOL - just kidding, I know my hubs and son wouldn't enjoy it. Thanks for your visit earlier - happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #11

What a lovely holiday from home, Lisa! Fabulous photos, and I am 100% with you over the tigers. I adore tigers - the most beautiful creatures! (I think our kitties like to pretend they are being tigers in the garden!) We always have to visit them when we go to Paignton Zoo. My Dad operated on 2 tiger cubs with congenital cataracts back in the 1950s and I've got photos - I remember going to the vet's house in Plymouth and seeing them wandering about the lounge. One of them bit the corner of Mum's handbag and she dined out on the reason for the tooth marks for years! Lol! My hubby would have loved going round the aircraft place. Like us down here in Devon, you have got some beautiful surroundings, so why would you want to go anywhere exotic for holidays! We are so fortunate in this country with so much beauty and variety.

Thank you for your visit and for your kind words! It's rather fun doing the weekly fashion show at the moment. Not sure what I shall do when I run out of clothes... Ooooh yes - good idea - buy some more!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed the kitties' antics too. They are adorable, aren't they. We really fell on our feet with these two.

Happy WOYWW,

Love the idea of everybody picking a place. I would have loved the animal park, I would have enjoyed the White Horse too, but my mobility scooter probably wouldn’t get me there :) Angela #24

Sounds like a lovely staycation Lisa. We visited an air museum near York when we were camping two years ago wonder if it was the same one. It was a great day out. Hope the mask making eases off soon so you can get round to your own crafting. Stay safe and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #4

Hi Lisa, I'm so glad you enjoyed your staycation, what a lovely mixture of days out - as you say, we don't need to go abroad when we have so much right here and we have been pretty lucky with the weather this year thank goodness. Take care and have a great week :) Annie C #16
