WOYWW 563

Morning gentle Crafters. I hope you are staying healthy and looking after each other in these strange times we find ourselves living in.

I have a Training Day today, something we usually look forward to but not knowing how long school will stay open for, going to work feels a bit of a luxury at the minute and the kids are such a joy they make you smile when there isn't much joy about. Watching them washing their hands on mass is amazing. They do it without being told now.

Anyway, here's my desk this morning, well it's the dining table.

I was having a play with a gelli plate and some Lavinia stamps I had for Christmas and was using a piece of card to clean my brayer on. I liked the scrap so much I decided to make something with it using some new AALL and Create stamps. It's still a work in progress, I've got some bits and pieces cut out to add. It might be finished by next week.

These are the pieces I made with the Lavinia stamps, waiting to be made into cards.

Well, that's me this week. If you want to share you desk with some lovely people then pop over to see Julia at WOYWW headquarters HERE.  It's a lovely way to keep in touch with people  now we have to keep ourselves apart.

Look after yourselves and stay well.

Lovely to see that our crafty activities are still continuing. The stamps work well but your "finishing" of them is wonderful. We need to blog more and share our crafty activities if we are all housebound! xx Jo #15

Hi Lisa, love your Lavinia cards! The use of the clean up sheet is very clever,it's surprising how often we get a good background by complete accident. I have actually been wondering if it is the damp weather that causes my shoulder to start playing up, and we have had so much rain! Stay safe, and have a good week, Hugs, Shaz #6 X

These are strange times and all we can do is sit, craft and wait... we're not homebound completely in Holland (we are still alowed to go outside) but social isolation, yes. And the place I work closed its doors (as do the schools, pubs, restaurants and most shops) and since I cannot do my work at home, I am unemployed now. It feels strange to have no job all of a sudden... I can't seem to get myself to being creative today but I might take out my gelli plate one of these days, good idea! I'm glad I have my online friends to visit! Take care, stay healthy! Big virtual hug from the Netherlands! Marit #21

From the sounds of today's news, I think your schools will be shutting sooner rather than later Lisa. Hope you stay ok. In the meantime, lovely crafting there, I do like Lavinia stamps, and of course the hare on the right is my fav!!

I've just started doing some fairy stamping but nothing as good as yours, just a DI background and some silhouette stamps I borrowed on top. I have bought one or two of myk own though an did have some but not many. I had a list of lavinia ones I wanted (to expensive at the moment) and then found she had a sale on on Friday! Trust me to miss the boat.
Your cards are lovely can see I am going to have to practise and practise.
Is that one of the large AALL & Create stamps you have used on your desk? I love their stuff and think Abs is wonderful, such good fun.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
ps you are the first to comment on the chocolate - hope others didn't think I meant it and had actually washed it - it was written to make one smile.

Great desk and the prep for the cards look fabulous. Guess you'll be preparing for trying to teach from home somehow now! Stay safe. Helen #3

Hi Lisa, looks like you're going to have plenty of time now to craft after Friday when the schools close. I'm still not sure if this is the best course of action particularly for the older children who will not want to stay in doors for long. Loving your cards but then I have always enjoyed using Lavinia stamps. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x12x

Hello Lisa
lovely to see the pieces you are working on currently. Crazy times for all of us, it is probably the first time I have felt we are all in the same boat!! I really like the mixed media piece in your first photo... love all the details. Stay safe and keep crafting.

There's nothing like a great mop up or brayer clean up sheet as a starting point for creativity is there Lisa? It's my day off today so I am waiting to find out what will be happening from Monday at school as we will no doubt still have some pupils coming in (vulnerable / key workers). Happy WOYWW. Stay safe. Aw Lisa, your use of the Lavinia is just perfect. Beautiful backgrounds, and I love the hare and mushrooms (? Can’t tell a mushroom from a toadstool here!!) I’m not big into fairy images, just not my thing, but I really love what you’ve done here. Cl;ever you. And the braver scrap... looks like a carefully crafted background doesn't it. Well done you for looking twice at it. I don’t have any Aall and create, I’m scared of them, so I shall enjoy your skill very much. Keep well gal. Xx

Hi Lisa,

What lovely, delicate images. The colours are gorgeous!
It's funny how something we would normally look forward to, or even enjoy, like a Training Day or being told to work from home, now feels like just one more odd thing in a very upside down world. Hope you stay safe and well in the coming weeks.

Hi Lisa. Great card fronts there with those stamps. And you were certainly having a lot of fun on your scrap paper!! Great.
Take care and stay safe in these days where we find things changing from hour to hour. You are going to miss seeing the youngsters in the classroom!
God bless.

Hi Lisa, I adore your Lavinia cards so beautifully designed. I wonder if now you will be one of many schools that have had to close due to these very trying times. My Son's girlfriend who is a TA has been told to self isolate for the next 12 weeks due to her being high risk, she already misses the children after only one day of closure. Stay safe & keep creative and thank you for sharing WOYWW Tracey x
