WOYWW 368

Morning dear WOYWW friends. I hope I find you well today and enjoying some sunshine. Thankfully, the rain of last week has settled down to lovely warm sunshine now here in Yorkshire. I've been out in the garden trying to tame it. Everything is growing so quickly.

Anyway, here's my desk as of yesterday evening.

I've been asked to make a 91st birthday card so that's what I'm in the middle of doing. It's coming along nicely so far and just needs some flowers. No tea today, I'm being good and sticking to water. It's high time I stuck to a diet and lost a few pounds!!! Not much else to share with you that you haven't seen before.

So here's the finished card. I finished it first thing today. We are up at 6am as hubby has a two hour commute and I am far more productive in a morning than late at night so am an early morning crafter.I think I might reproduce it for my Mum's 80th birthday next month. What do you think?

We had a lovely day out last Saturday at Fountains Abbey. We are so lucky to have such beautiful places on our doorstep.

Well, that's me today. If you want to share your desk with us, then pop over HERE and link yourself up.

Have a great Wednesday and Happy Crafting.

I think a visit to Fountains Abbey is now on my list. Thanks for the photographs.
Love the card you have made - and yes, repeat it for your mum.

Hiya, lovely girl...thanks for the hugs :-). I like that Paris card a lot and think it would be a great choice for your mum's card too! The colours are so soft and pretty.
Oh, we used to go to Fountains abbey all the time when we lived in Northallerton. I remember my heart being in my mouth when I let our sons go over the stepping stones on their own for the first time, hoping there wouldn't be a splash! It's a good place to stroll around. We go to Stourhead a lot now, it's very similar with a good walk along interesting paths around a lake :-)

Hi Lisa, that is a stunning card and lovely to see how the flowers really add a lovely touch. I thought it looked good on your desk but WOW to the finished card. I'm dieting as well ... trying the 5/2 diet by your Dr. Mosely. So far not too bad :( I will let you know how I go. Gorgeous pics of the Fountains Abbey you are very lucky to be able to go for a wander in those beautiful grounds. Have a lovely week and keep posting it is always nice to see what you are up to in your part of the world.

Oh yes, your mum would love that card! It is beautiful!
Thanks for sharing the photos of Fountain Abbey. I had not heard of it, but then when I lived in the UK we lived just south of Bristol and Yorkshire was a world away!
Well done you for trying to lose weight. May I remark though, that skipping meals is not going to make you lose weight. If you want to lose weight without going hungry, try eating healthily 5 times a day a small meal. Keep your sugar intake minimal. Ban coffee and alcohol (and builders tea too as you live in Yorkshire), and limit your carbohydrates. (just one potato and double portion of veg for example). I do this every winter and it makes me plan ahead and eat well and lose about 10 lb. I've developed a taste for oat based things (oatabix, porridge etc) which keep me going for longer. Give it a try and you'll see.

Happy WOYWW and have a good week,
Greetings from sunny Spain,

The abbey looks gorgeous. Such lovely photos. I love the card. It would make a great 80th too - my Mum turns 80 in September. It doesn't seem like they should be that old, does it?

Happy WOYWW

Lovely card and that's a good age. The Abbey looks like a great place to visit but I've never been. Brilliant photos. Another late visit for me as we've been to the Lincolnshire agricultural show today. Thanks for the visit to mine and happy woyww, Angela x 21

Hi Lisa
That card is absolutely beautiful! I would certainly make a few more in the same style :)
Please let me know when you do something with the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp. I do like it very much, but as you say, a little practice is required to get it "right". But worth it :)
