WOYWW 226

Morning lovely crafters and WOYWW friends. It was an absolute delight to be back amongst my WOYWW friends last week. Thank you so much for welcoming me back into the fold again, I hadn't realised how much I'd missed being part of this lovely desk hop each week. If you haven't discovered this amazing group of people yet, then please pop over to see our Desk Headmistress, Julia, HERE.

My desk this morning, well yesterday afternoon to be honest, but it hasn't changed any.

I have been trying a new technique using the Luminarte Primary elements. It was something recently demonstrated by Sheena Douglass and I've been dying to have a play. It's ages since I've made something just for the fun of it so this MDF cog is going to become something....watch this space. I have some vellum flowers cut and plan to use the Julie Nutting Prima doll stamp on it but I have some DT work waiting so will have to come back to this later in the week.

Here's a close up, the shimmer and shine is amazing.

Last week I mentioned I'd been tidying up my craft room to make space for a new 12x12 cabinet so here it is in it's new home.

And this is how it started life after DH had kindly sanded it down for me.

You can see what colour it was originally though, not pretty. It had been a pastel display cabinet at my local craft centre and they were selling it off at a bargain price. I'm dead chuffed with it, it's taken all the 12x12 paper I have and I have a lot!! It also houses my rubbish bin at a perfect height to my desk.

Well that's me for today so thanks for stopping by and I hope your Wednesday is a happy one. I'll be back after work to have a good nosey round some desks.

Happy Crafting.

Hi Lisa you have done a wonderful job of repurposing the drawers and it sounds like it is made to fit a crafters needs. I am also liking what you are doing to the cog the paint shimmer is captured beautifully. It can be hard to get a good pic of the shimmer. Have a lovely week.

So envious of your new 12X12 paper storage! You did a great job acquiring that piece and upcycling it to something so cool. So many beautiful scrapbook papers keep coming out that I can't quit buying them! Thanks so much for your visit too. Sandy Leigh #3

Hi Lisa, the cog looks fantastic ... I've been stalking Sheena on TV to watch her demonstrations and have them all stored in my head waiting for the day I can sit down and play again.

Love, love, love your cabinet ... 12x12 drawers are as rare as hen's teeth so you have been incredibly lucky to buy this one. And it looks gorgeous after the facelift you've given it.

Thanks for your earlier visit and in answer to your question, yes, we are moving house. Arthritis and old age has meant that we had to look for a house with a garden that wasn't on a steep slope and had no stairs - it took a year but we found the perfect place. It's being totally refurbish at the moment but should be ready for when we move in mid November. In the meantime I'm having to pack away the craft room - it's terrible :(

I hope you have a good week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #49

That is a nice cabinet for your papers. That is, after you painted it. It was rather bleak beforehand for sure. That cog is incredible! You couldn't see the shimmer or the stamping on it in the first photo; so glad you showed up another one. What a great project.

Happy Belated WOYWW and thanks for visiting me earlier. Firstly, I love that cog. I bought myself a mini chest, so I could stray away from purely digital crafting, but not got round to doing anything with it yet. Also loving the 12x12 storage. I really need to sort out my paper/card - going to make that a priority. Ali x #52

Hi Lisa - so lovely to hear from you. It seems like an age since I've had a wee look about in blogland! I love the look of your cog, can't wait to see what it becomes. Indeed no month is ever expense free and yep we too have had a scarey year. I have bought a new camera......and think it'll take me another 3 months to find out how to work it properly. Cheers Claire x
