WOYWW 225

Morning lovely crafters and WOYWW freinds. I'm back...phew it's been months since I was present for the the WOYWW register, did you miss me?? I'm afraid summer hols and the stunning weather we've had over the last few months have kept me away from all things crafty and the computer but now that autumn has arrived I'm back in residence in my craft room and enjoying playing with inks and paper again.

If you want to join in all the WOYWW fun then pop over to see Julia, HERE.

Here is my desk this morning.

I'm making a card for my lovely neighbour who is a surrogate Grandma to my daughter and looks after us in many ways. She adores Poppies so it was a no brainer what sort of card to make her.

I spent last weekend tidying up my craft room and making some room for a new cabinet I've just acquired to keep all my 12x12 papers in although you wouldn't think it to look at this photo, why do we always surround ourselves with all the stuff we are using, I think it must be a bit like a comfort blanket.

Here is the finished card.

Right, short and sweet from me as I'm off to work in a minute so I'll be round to have a good catch up with you all later.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Wednesday.

I've missed you! Glad you're back......
That poppy card is gorgeous, I like the 3 red jewels in the top RH corner that add balance to the overall effect. Rather lovely,

This is such a beautiful looking card Lisa. I too live in the Yorkshire Dales and have to say it is a bit grey outside today. I have popped over from WOYWW

You'd think now I'd got a whole room for my craft stuff I could keep it tidy - but no - the whole room seems to look like your desk. Apart from the gorgeous poppy card though. Haven't got one of those lurking anywhere. Your neighbour will be so thrilled when she gets this.
Was a gorgeous sunny day here yesterday by the way. Even had to retreat indoors for a while to cool down.

Welcome back.... Lovely poppy card. One of my favourite flowers. You must show a pic of the new cabinet with all the papers. I have just noticed your stash of MS punches such a lovely collection. I can't believe noonecan see the water bloom it is in the green section at the bottom of the page. All water no pigment and it just screams at me!!

Nice to have you back Lisa, that summer was too good to waste sitting around indoors. "A comfort blanket" lol, just as long as we don't find you napping under a pile of papers! With my track record "something Christmassy" is highly likely!

Welcome back! Your poppy card for your sweet neighbor is breathtaking, Lisa!! How about that, we both got new cabinets for our papers! (I like your "comfort blanket" analogy!)

Beautiful card! The colors in it are so lovely. When I saw your first photo I thought it was nice that you were a gal after my own heart who piled stuff off to the sides while working (or always, in my case). Then you went to ask why we felt compelled to pile stuff around us and I like your comfort blanket answer!

Gorgeous poppy card, your "rent-a-gran" will love it. So you keep your sewing machine in the wardrobe too - LOL. Craft Club was fun although I never feel like finishing any cards there, prefer to be back in my craftcorner for that, but had a bit of a laugh last night. Thanks for the visit BJ#26

Hi Lisa,

The card for your neighbor is just beautiful! I love poppies too.

I'm having a good time organizing but as you saw, have a long way to go! I bet the cabinet for your 12 x 12 paper will be quite useful! Since I don't do scrapbooking I cut my 12 x 12 paper down to 6 inch squares. There have been a few times that I regretted that decision. I mainly did it due to space issues.

Thank you for stopping by already!

Happy WOYWW

Hi Lisa

How lovely to have such a fabby neighbour.

I bet she loves being a surrogate Grandma .. .. and I bet she loved her card too.

We had a fabby time in York and the lack of sunshine didn't matter. If anything it probably helped as walking the walls in blazing hot sunshine might not have been quite so enjoyable.

I hope all is well with you and you are keeping nice and busy.

Have a lovely weekend.

Love Jules xx
