WOYWW

Morning lovely Crafters and Happy WOYWW. I can't believe I'm actually posting my desk early for once. Wonders will never cease. We are nearly at the end of our Easter Hols here and DD has been spending a few days with her Grandma. She came home last night and is this morning soaking in the bath. She's been there for an hour so far, you'd have thought the water would've gone cold by now.

Anyway, I thought I'd grab a few minutes and get my desk posted. It's also raining in our little bit of Yorkshire, good for the garden but not for my piccies!!

I have lots on my desk this week. There are two scrapbook layouts waiting to be worked on. The photos are printed and papers chosen and I've got lots of ideas for them, hence the Cuttlebug sitting waiting patiently to cut some tattered flowers out.

I've also been playing with different colours for the Lavinia card I made for Mothers Day. It's nice and quick, when I find a design I like I tend to stick to it until I get fed up with it!! You can see the piece of scrap paper where I've been trying out my promarkers for matting the stamped designs onto. I always think the colours look different to the actually pen label and need to try them out first for the colour I want. Playing with different inks has been good fun and I think I like these two best.

If you want to join in the fun and share your desk with the world pop over to see Julia at Stamping Ground and start browsing.

On Saturday we made the most of the fantastic weather and had our first trip of the year to Ambleside in The Lake District. It's been hard to believe it's only early April with temperatures over 20C hasn't it. I could get used to it.

Up at the crack of dawn, we stopped for bacon butties on the way and were parked up enjoying ourselves by 10am. If I could live anywhere in the UK this would be where I'd choose, how about you?

Thanks for stopping by and I apologise if I haven't visited you for awhile. My blogging time has been limited during the holidays but normal service will resume shortly so please bear with me. I need to catch up on all the lovely things I've been missing.

Lovely bright and breezy post today. you are enjoying life! Love those card and the image is fab.
Stick some sticky spots on each Promarker cap and colour each one with the pen then you'll know the real colour within!
I adore that stretch of the Lake District but would only like to live there out of the main tourist season. We visitors spoil it! I think I could live happily in Northumberland as it's still so unspoilt.

Love the cards :) I love where I live! But if money was no object I would not mind a ski chalet somewhere in Austria!! Somewhere near Kitzbuel perhaps?

Love your cards and it is always good to have a few in different colours. Otherwise you give the card away and there goes the great idea. Now you must tell me about promarkers? I keep seeing them on UK blogs but haven't seen them on OZ blogs ... what makes them different to other markers?

Hi Lisa, enjoyed your post today - the cards are lovely. Now, what exactly are you doing with the Promarkers - are you colouring an edge round the card you use for matting or the edge of the card your stamping? I can't quite work it out. Love the Lake District too but for holidays I prefer Yorkshire and if I could live anywhere, truth is I'd move back to Edinburgh in a heartbeat. Thanks for your comment on my blog this morning. Take care, Elizabeth x #66

These are lovely cards Lisa and there's nothing wrong with sticking with something you really like - I've got a favourite sketch that I use over and over again. I wouldn't mind living in Cornwall but my family would all have to move there too - I'd miss them too much otherwise.

Love Lynda xxx

Hi Lisa, me again :) Thanks for clarifying the way you use the Promarkers. It is a great idea, white card is usually cheaper than coloured so it's more practical and cost-effective to use it for matting and, as you say, you get the perfect match for your image. Thanks again. Hugs, Elizabth x

The weather as lovely at the weekend wasn't it Lisa. Makes you feel a totally different person when the sun shines.

A very gorgeous card on display here, I too am a LAvinia fan wich reminds me a plsy with them is well overdue.

I really appreciate your visits to me, even though I can't get 'out and about' too often. They say it's my eyes, I prefer to blame the computer screen.

Hi Lisa
Your cards are absolutely gorgeous! I love all the colour combos. Someone told me there was a colour chart on the net for promarkers that you can print off and colour in. If I find it I will send you a link. Lucky you, having Easter when the weather is good. Meg has her 14th birthday on Sunday and I have known it snow one year and be 20 degrees another! We are off to Camden market for a day trip next week, as well as one or two days out closer to home. Ambleside is so beautiful. I love it

Glad you had a good weekend. I love the Lake District.
These cards are gorgeous in each of the colours you have used. Love these images and the way you have used them with the script background.

Those cards are lovely. Really must get some of those Lavinia stamps soon.
My ideal place to live in UK if not where I am would have to be Plockton in Scotland! Ahhh!
Thanks for visiting me and your kind comments.

I bought that lovely Lavinia fairy from Ally Pally at the weekend (along with several others, ahem) Love how you've used all the Lavinia stamps on this gorgeous design. I don't blame you for using it more than once 'cos it's really lovely.

I'm really confused about your school hols Lisa. Round here and also in the Harrogate area (not far from your neck of the woods is it) all the schools only broke up for the Easter hols Friday last and don't return until after the May Day weekend. If your holidays are almost over will you be back at school before Easter?

Nice busy desk. Beautiful Mothers day card. Beautiful picture of the lake. I visited the Lake District on a trip to the UK several years ago. We camped there an I can tell you I have never seen such pesky mosquitoes anywhere like there! They tell me it was a horrible year for them. They were so small and made such a loud buzzing. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #78

I hope you have had a great break with your daughter.

Those are such pretty cards. I think you must shop in the same place as we do - that looks like my kitchen roll there and my talcum powder. With those and baby wipes and tumble dryer sheets, I have all the tools I need (I exaggerate). Thank you for your lovely message on my blog.

Love what you're making with the Lavinia stamps. Isn't it amazing how changing the colour can make a design look totally different.

Lovely photo too. I am very fortunute to live where I live but if I could move a little closer to the sea (like see it out my window)that's what I'd really like.

Hiya Lisa, wow that photo at Ambleside is gorgeous. I think I would live either in the Lakes or up in Northumberland. I've already decided I want to retire up there and live near the sea :-)

Looks like you were right about the weather for this weekend - scorchio! I'd best get my factor 30 at the ready :-)
