I hope you are all keeping safe and warm in this freezing weather.
We had such a dollop of snow yesterday. I haven't seen anything like it for years. The flakes were huge and coming down so fast it was hard to see across the road. We had 4 or 5 inches in a few hours and everything ground to a halt. It took DH 2 hours to do a 20 minute journey home.
Today thankfully, apart from a few showers, has been a much better day and the gritter has now cleared the hill outside so we are able to get in and out again.
The most disappointing thing is that the School Christmas Fayre on Saturday that I have been making Christmas cards for for the past few months for a stall I was having has been cancelled so all that work has been for nothing!!!!!! Guess how I feel tonight.
Enough doom and gloom. I have just managed to finish the cover for my Journal Your Christmas book in time to enter it into The Stampman's challenge this fortnight which is to create something for Christmas using Tim Holtz products.
I painted the cover of the book with Acrylic daubers and then stamped around the edge with part of the only TH stamp I currently own, which is one of the components Christmas stamps. I used Broken China and Worn Lipstick DI for all the stamping. The edging was clear embossed.
The negative part of the TH swirl die was used as a stencil and the swirl itself was inked and glittered with crystal stickles. The flowers were coloured in the same way.
The letters were triple embossed with Moon Glow Midnight Emerald Obsidian which is just gorgeous and then the TH stamp inked with Silver brilliance and pressed in while the powder was still hot. My favourite technique.
It's surprising what you can do with one little stamp but I really need to expand my collection of TH stamps. Maybe Santa is listening!!!!!!
Thanks for stopping by and stay warm.

Oh wow, Lisa! That is stunning! I love it, especially the effect on the swirl and flowers. We have had to close school today, so that is three Panto shows that will need to be rescheduled. My trip to Sir stampalot is looking seriously unlikely too. It's very beautiful, but it does cause chaos doesn't it?
Love the deep embossing ;) We had a little snow today...just a little! Keep warm
xoxo Sioux
Hi Lisa
What a wonderful make .. ... it is really beautiful .. .. love your embossing and flowers very much.
Sorry to hear about your fayre being cancelled .. .. I can feel your disappointment from here and can imagine how you feel after all of that hard work.
Just don't be tempted to send the cards you have made to friends and relatives otherwise they will all expect handmade ones next year and you will have made a rod for your own back then LOL!!. Make sure you save them for next year.
Love Jules xx
Oh wow Lisa, those flowers are so gorgeous. No snow here for real but tomorrow the museum is 'importing' snow for the children to play in! Jill x
Oh Lisa, what a shame about the fayre being cancelled - maybe you should have a "Coffee and Cards" morning of your own....
I love your journal - lovely to see someone else getting stuck in to making one - mind you, I did start mine quite early - I'm on to wk 4 now, I think!
Hope you manage to dig yourself out of the snow soon - we've only got a smattering - you can actually see quite a bit of the road, path and grass around here but I'm sick of just that little bit, let alone the amount [retty much everyone else is suffering!!
Your journal cover is gorgeous Lisa, I love your Moonglow letters, they give a lovely texture. It'll be a fab journal to work on and keep.
I'm so sorry to hear about the school fair, I know you put a lot of time and effort into your cards for it. I'm hoping this snow clears up soon it's a real pain when it gets in the way of things you plan to do!
Take care and keep warm

This is beautiful and the roses are stunning.
We had some snow this morning - not a lot and it turned to rain - but the trip had already been called off as the roads where I was going weren't totaly clear and 7 hours of driving in dodgy conditions is not a good idea. Just hope I can make the trip before Christmas.
Beryl xx
Oh dear the snow has a lot to answer for doesn't it? I know how you feel as after doing all my work for my classes at The Glitter Pot they were cancelled due to the snow!
Love the flowers that you've made on this! xx
This is just lovely, and to think you did it with only one TH stamp to your name! The embossing is fab. So sorry to read that the snow stopped the fayre, after all your hard work. Elizabeth
Your journal looks brilliant Lisa!
What a shame about the Christmas Fayre getting cancelled. Can you use the cards yourself or did you already make your own to send?
Thanks sooooo much for giving me the blog award - I've finally done a post about it. Sorry for the delay; would you believe my flu bug has now turned into vertigo? crazy I know!
Take care,
Ciara
