Home From Holidays

Hello all you lovely Bloggers. The Craft Garden is back in business again after our holiday in Seefeld in beautiful Austria. I am currently wading through mountains of washing and ironing so there's no knowing when any crafting will be done but I will try and get round and visit you all as soon as I can to see what I've been missing.

In the meantime I thought I'd bore you with just a few holiday snaps.

This was the view from our hotel balcony. You could tell what the weather was like each day by how many mountains you could see, but what a lovely sight to wake up to.

And a view of Seefeld from the meadows.

We had a mixed bag of weather this year from gorgeous sunshine which, being so high up in the mountains gave you an instant tan the air is so clear, to rain and snow!!! Yes snow in August. Admittedly we were on a glacier at the time but the thermometer read 2 degrees C and it was snowing like nobodies business. As you can see DH and DD thought it was great to play in snow.

The two weeks just flew by, there was so much to see and do. We visited Bavaria, Lichtenstein, Switzerland and Germany. Talk about well travelled but they are all very close together, you don't always know what country you are actually in!!

Here's the famous Neuschwanstein Castle which was very interesting if very crowded. I don't think I've ever seen so many people in one place before.

If I have a choice though, I prefer being high up on the mountains enjoying the natural beauty and fresh air.

And just to finish off with one of the numerous painted buildings. Every house and shop is either decorated with flowers, which, we found out, is because they get a tax rebate if they have a pretty house, or decorated with paintings. This one was in the Bavarian town of Mittenwald which is famous for its painted buildings and for making violins. See, you learn something new everyday!!

Well, that's me done for now so thanks for stopping by and I'll catch up with you all as soon as I can.

Hi Lisa

Welcome home.

You have certainly taken some gorgeous photographs.

Your morning view is my favourite .. how nice to wake up to that every morning!!!

I have never been to Austria but you have made it look a lovely place.

Sorry to hear about the washing and ironing .. .. but that is the price you pay for enjoying yourself LOL!!!

Dare you to post a craft desk with a basket of washing on top of it when you do your Wednesday show and tell!!

Nice to have you back.

Love Jules xx

Hi Lisa - welcome back (though I guess you probably wish you were still on holiday)!! Your scenic photos are stunning and I love the idea of houses being painted so beautifully - why can't we do that in Leeds!!!!
See you soon, Love Sylvia xxx

Hurrah! Glad you have had such a great holiday, but glad you are home too! Your pics are superb and I am so jealous that you have been to Neuchwanstein - always wanted to go there but ended up at King Ludwig's other palace instead which isnt nearly so fab!!! Have fun scrapping them when you have finished your chores! xx

Hi Lisa,

Fabulous photos - what a wonderful place to be, all that beautiful scenery and fresh air. Glad you enjoyed your holiday. Such a shame that holidays have the downside of washing & stuff afterwards! Never mind, you've got some lovely memories to look back on. I've just come back from a week at my daughter's, and she did my washing for me while I was there! Mind you, I did lots of babysitting, so I reckon I earned it!

Enjoy the rest of the school hols. They're going all too quickly!

Hugs, Lynne xx

Wonderful pics and it looks like you really had a good time. I just love lakes and mountains in preference to a beach holiday. The air is so good and the scenery so uplifting. Look forward to hearing and seeing some more.
Things are on the mend here, thanks,

Been to Neuschwanstein a long time ago....seems it's still pulling in the crowds then....don't you just wish everyone else wanted to go somewhere else on their hols when that happens?!!!

P.S. Have you any more photo's to share? Love to see them....after all I'm boring people to death with my Valencian ones HOL

Lovely to have you home again Lisa. Thanks for sharing your stunning photos. I can almost smell how clean and fresh the air must have been on your mountain walks.
The pile of washing at the end of a good holiday always brings us back to earth with a bump though.
Love the beautiful wedding card you created on your previous post. stunning!
Hugs
