WOYWW 173

Morning lovely Crafters and Dear WOYWW friends.

Well, we've made it to another Wednesday hop around the desks a little bit soggier than last week but the thought of sharing some desk chatter is more than enough to banish these gloomy clouds. If you want to join in then you need to pop over to see our Desk Headmistress, Julia, HERE.

I hope I find you all safe and dry today after this awful rain. We have several roads under water and the river came out into the park but thankfully not into the homes that border it. We actually made it onto the BBC 10 O'Clock news last night!!!!!  We got off lightly though compared with anyone living a bit further north. The pictures of the A1 are amazing.

It's certainly been perfect crafting weather so, without further ado, here's my desk today.

I've been playing with yet more previously  uninked stamps, I told you I have many!!  These are the Poppy Scene it set from Hobby Craft and I love them. My H20's are sitting there patiently activating while I took the photos. The mug is empty, a rare event.

Here is what I have been looking at out of the window, nothing to distract lately. I can't wait to visit all my Australian friends who'll have gorgeous blue sky photos to share I hope.

Also on my window sill is one of my Hoya cuttings. This poor plant has had a rough life after leaving his Mummy, my dear blogging friend, Jozarty.

She sent me two a couple of years ago and said they were an easy houseplant. They were nurtured and  grew beautifully until this Spring when they started to look very sad. What was I going to tell, Jo, couldn't tell here I'd killed them. Desperate measures were called for so I tried taking cuttings from the ends of the poor plants and amazingly they grew. I now have two again growing very well but I knocked this one over on Monday spilling soil all over my little room. He has now been replanted and put on the window ledge where hopefully he'll be safe. His brother is on another shelf. I promise I will take better care of them, Jo.

And finally, here is the cared I as working on. A birthday card for my lovely Neighbour who is Poppy mad. I can't take any credit for this one as I took the scene from a card that was on Jenny May's stand at Harrogate in March.  I painted the scene with Distress inks and the Poppies with H20's to make them shine.

Sorry not to be so brief today but thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a lovely, Crafty Wednesday.

Having Some Inky Fun

Morning lovely crafters on this miserable Monday morning. At least the weekend stayed dry, well it did here in Yorkshire. Saturday was glorious and although yesterday was misty I managed a few hours in the garden so musn't grumble about the rain today I suppose.

I have many stamps that have yet to see the sight of an ink pad, I bet I'm not alone, but after recently putting them all into some sort of order I decided the time had come to actually try and have a play with them.

I bought all these at the GNPE in Harrogate earlier in the year from Lavinia Stamps and Inkylicious. They work so well together. I love the Inkylicious sentiments.

This first one I have made for my SIL's birthday tomorrow.

I used Stormy Sky and Peeled Paint Distress Inks and Clover Adirondack. It always amazes me what you can do with just a few ink pads.

This next one is for a young lady who will be 14 next week. Her Dad was an usher at our Wedding and we didn't know whether baby would hang on long enough for him to be there. In the end she arrived 5 days later.

And I just had a play with this one.

Well, I think it's time for another cuppa and then I shall hide myself in my craft room and make the most of having to stay indoors.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a Happy and Dry Monday,

WOYWW 172

Hello lovely Crafters and WOYWW friends. I'm not going to say how fast that week went by as we all know it flew. I'm getting up a good hour earlier and still there are not enough hours in the day. Anyway, as it's Wednesday again, my favourite day of the week, it's time for that weekly dose of interesting and inspirational desks. If you haven't yet discovered this wonderful place we all visit every week, then pop over to see the Desk Headmistress, Julia, HERE, who'll fill you in on all the details.

Here's my desk this morning. I've been playing with something I rarely do and that's the little Tilda girls. I discovered some images that had been stamped out for me and decided to make them up into cards.  I seem to be using the shove it to the right technique with everything looking at this. Do you like my Smartie calculator I rescued from DD. Very handy for someone like me who has trouble with the tiny buttons they insist on putting on gadgets these days!!

Here's the finished card.

It's not elaborate like you see around the gorgeous Magnolia blogs but I can't seem to do those but it'll be fine for my card box and find a good home I'm sure.

Well, nice and brief again this week. If you stopped by earlier and wondered where the rest of the post was, I typed the first paragraph last night before Great British Bake Off and scheduled it to post this morning and then forgot to come back and finish it, so apologies. It's all here now.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Wednesday. It's a beautiful start to the day here in Yorkshire if a bit chilly.

More Sheena Sneaky Peeks

Afternoon all. How are you this Thursday? Is it just me or has it turned a tad chilly???? I'm freezing. Was it only last week that we were sitting in the garden basking in Summer!! Well, never mind, maybe a bit more crafting will get done.

Here are a couple more cards I made for Sheena's Create and craft shows tomorrow. These really are beautiful stamps and the rest of the DT have done some stunning things with them so don't forget to catch the shows if you can. They are scheduled for 11am, 2pm and 6pm.

I used the mistletoe to make a very simple card really. It has just been decoupaged with a bit of sparkly stuff added. I also stamped up the organza ribbon although I'm not sure about using black ink, a colour may have looked better.

This second one is my favourite. I love this postbox. It come on a set with another stamp so is very versatile.

I decoupaged it again after colouring it with promarkers and adding glossy accents. The background was a happy accident but I just love this colour combination and will definitely be using it again. It's Broken China and Walnut Stain distress inks with gold pearl radiant rain sprayed over the top. I think it works with the red perfectly.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend

WOYWW 171

Morning lovely crafters and dear WOYWW friends. Is it really time again  for that lovely get together of friendly desks? These weeks just fly by. If you haven't discovered this wonderful place yet, then what are you waiting for? Pop over to see our Desk Headmistress, the lovely Julia, HERE, but be warned it's totally addictive once you start.

I'm afraid my desk is an absolute tip today. I hang my head in shame. I am madly finishing off some DT work and always think of one last thing to do even though the envelope should already be in the post!!! Why do we do it to ourselves???

I wasn't tipsy when I took the photo, it was just very early and I don't think I was properly awake.

To prove that we've had Summer at last I took some photos on Saturday afternoon in the garden and thought I'd share them with you. I love teasels, although they can be a bit brutish and take over but aren't the seed heads amazing?

Here's DD in her favourite spot ( my deck chair) with her nose in a book.

Short and sweet from me today as I'm off to do some work experience this morning. It's 11 years since I did any proper work and I need to get back to it but have realised how rusty and lacking in confidence I have become so I'm going to practise in DD's old Primary school office for a while. I'll try and pop by and say hello later in the day

Thanks for stopping by and have a Crafty Wednesday

Sheena Sneaky Peaks

Evening lovely Crafters. I hope I find you well this Tuesday. The Indian Summer seems to have slipped away from Yorkshire today. It has been much cooler with some really heavy showers. Although the sunshine has made an appearance which has created some stunning rainbows.

I have been playing with some new Christmas stamps from Sheena Douglass which are being launched on Create and Craft on Friday. If you like traditional Christmas images then you are going to love these. I've thoroughly enjoyed getting messy with them.

Here are the first two using the snowy cottage.

I treated this one very simply just using Distress ink to give a monochrome effect. The backing panel is made with chipped sapphire and faded jeans distress inks and wet cling film on the Centura pearl. It gives a beautiful effect.

For this one I coloured the cottage with pro markers and then masked it off before applying distress inks to the sky and spraying with Luminarte gold radiant rain.

It's hard to get a good photo but this shows the glitter on the image with the mica sky a bit better.

Thanks for stopping by and I would just like to sign off with a special thought for all those effected by today's date. May it always be remembered.

WOYWW 170

Morning lovely Crafters and WOYWW friends. Blimey, is it Wednesday again?????? Something like normality has returned to The Craft Garden. DD started Secondary school yesterday and all seemed to go well although all they did was learn about procedures I think. She looked soooooo smart in her new uniform and all grown up. Trouble is her very first lesson ever today is PE, can you believe it, so there's no knowing what she'll look like when she gets home tonight. Yes, that is just a Mother worrying!!!!

It's another beautiful morning here in Yorkshire, it looks like Summer has finally arrived, and there was sun shining on my desk when I took this photo earlier although you can't really tell.

I've not much to show this week. Just some quick cards from a QVC kit I bought a while ago to bulk up the cards that I have for sale. They have been sadly neglected of late and need refreshing.

I also managed to finish the LO I was working on last week so thought I'd show you the finished thing.

Nice and brief this week, I've so many things to catch up on and am desperate to enjoy some of this sunshine  so I'll be round to see your desks hopefully a bit later on.

If you want to share your desks, big or small, messy or neat, then pop over to see the Desk Headmistress, Julia, the lady who keeps this rowdy rabble of WOYWWers in order, HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty Wednesday.
