I'm a Plantaholic and Proud Of It!

Afternoon dear crafty friends. I hope I find you well this breezy Tuesday afternoon.

I had a lovely day out with my Mum yesterday plant shopping, my favourite kind. You can keep your shoes and handbags, just give me plants and crafty stash and I'm a happy girl. I now have some lovely new additions for my garden, but I've no idea where I'm going to find space to put them....oh well, it's a nice problem to have.

Thank you for all your lovely comments lately, I really do appreciate them, especially as I've been such a poor blogger lately. I'm surprised you still remember me but I'm mighty glad you do.

As I'm in a flower mood and really enjoyed making this last batch of cards for Sheena I thought I'd share a few more with you.

Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday and Happy Crafting!!

More Flowers Anyone?

Afternoon lovely Crafters. I hope you are enjoying the weekend. At least the weather has improved from yesterday and I think it's set to get better...well fingers crossed.

I've just popped by today with another sample from the Victorian Stamps and Dies that Sheena is launching on C&C today. The samples from the rest of the team are amazing. I hope you've managed to catch a peek.

This one is a large photo frame that I've filled with the flowers. I might have to do something similar for myself, I was loathed to let this one go!

The flowers are coloured with H20's and the background stamping has been done with Peeled Paint Distress Ink with a mica spray added as well, I'm not sure which one though.

Thanks for looking and Happy Crafting!

Flowers Anyone?

Well, would you believe it???? One minute I'm having a lovely time in my garden, cutting the grass and pottering around and the next, the heavens open and it starts pouring. Talk about two seasons in one day. We've got the lights on and it's only 4pm!!

Well, seeing as how I've had to come inside I thought I share a couple of cards I've made for the launch of some gorgeous new Flower Dies and Stamps from the talented Sheena Douglass this weekend on Create and Craft. She has the Weekender and the first show is tomorrow at 9am so set your TV boxes!!

The flowers on this one have been painted with Aquatints and the embossing folder is from the Indian Range. I've added a little bit of Squeezed Lemonade DI around the edges.

and on this one the flowers are painted with H20's and teamed with one of Sheena's very early Little Bit Sketchy stamps that has just been coloured with brushed out Distress Inks. I used Walnut Stain and Forest Moss I think.

Thanks for popping by and enjoy your weekend, whatever the weather throws at us.

WOYWW 309

Morning dear WOYWW friends. I was amazed to realise that I haven't blogged a single thing on here for nearly a month, no wonder I've been getting lovely emails from my desk pals asking if I'm still breathing.....well as you can see I'm alive and kicking and just been very busy with DT stuff that I am only now nearly able to share and also having a lovely time in my garden so there hasn't been anything to show you.

I hope I find you all well this Wednesday and ready to share your desk. Here's mine as of yesterday afternoon.

A few weeks ago I discovered a new stamp company, Card-io, that make what I used to call peg stamps, you know, those tiny weeny stamps that build up to create a design. Anyway I was watching with fascination this lady demonstrating and blending pigment ink with dry baby wipes. A light bulb moment as I have many unloved pigment inks having preferred dye inks for many moons now, so after digging around in my craft room I found them, dusted off the cobwebs and have really enjoyed building up these designs. I made 6 cards in an afternoon!!

I also want to share an experiment with you. I'm constantly looking for projects for my Thursday Craft Club ladies and have been fascinated by all the book art I've been seeing lately and found instructions for a heart and this is how it turned out. I made it from a paperback which wouldn't stand up, so I've backed it with stiff cardboard inside and out and like the finished effect.

Well, I've shown you mine so I hope you share yours and I'll will be round for a look after work, so make sure you have the kettle on!!

If you want to join in all the WOYWW fun, then pop over to see our esteemed leader, Julia, HERE.

I know I've been absent for a while but I do know it was the WOYWW crop last Saturday so I look forward to seeing all the photos I hope you are sharing today if you were there.
Edit....oops thanks for pointing out it's next Saturday...silly me

Have a brilliant Wednesday and Happy Crafting

A Bundle Of Sunshine From Sheena

Evening everyone. I hope you've had a wonderful Easter. Hasn't the weather been amazing? We've been off this week and really made the most of it with a lovely trip to the coast.

Anyway, I've just popped by to let you know that Sheena is back on your telebox this weekend on Create and Craft. Her show times are 9am, 12noon and 6pm on Saturday and 11am, 2pm and 7pm on Sunday and she has some beautiful new stamps and really gorgeous new paints from Pebeo to delight you.

Here are a couple of samples I made for the launch.

This first one is Kraft card painted with gesso and then stamped with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The edges have been wetted and torn and then rubbed with gilding wax.

This one is stamped and embossed with white embossing powder and then painted with the new Dyna paint from Pebeo. I absolutely love the effect on the black card.

Thanks for stopping by and I shall be back tomorrow with a few more sneaky peeks to whet your appetite.

Happy Crafting!!

WOYWW 303

Afternoon lovely WOYWW friends. Here I am again back amongst all you lovely deskers. It's really hard to get much bloggery time at the moment. I'm looking after my Mum following her shoulder joint replacement and it's a 6 week recuperation period when she can't really use it, so, with work I'm getting little free time at the moment, but having just enjoyed a quick potter in the greenhouse I thought I'd get a quick post done to say hello.

Here's my desk today, not much changed since the last time I was here. My little set of drawers are a little further on... I said I was taking my time.

As the weather is turning more springlike I've been spending much more time out in the garden so this is my other desk today.

I've been sowing some seeds and sorting out all the things that have been overwintering.

Just before I go I wanted to show you what I made for both my lovely Mums for Mother's Day instead of a card this year. The blank MDF base came from Anna Marie Designs and I had a great time altering it.

I feel blessed to have them both in our lives and don't tell them often enough.

Right that's me this week. If you want to share your desk with a group of like minded folk, then pop over to see the lovely Julia, HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

WOYWW 301

Morning lovely WOYWW friends, it's great to be back amongst you although I was sad to miss the 300th edition last week, what a milestone.

Here's my desk this morning, a WIP.

My lovely hubby treated me to this MDF cabinet recently and I am really enjoying decorating it. I've even broken into my favourite Heartfelt Creations paper pad which, up until now, has just been for stoking not using, you know the sort.

I'm taking my time with it and just enjoying crafting for myself, not something I do very often.

Well that's me, short and sweet today. I'll be round later to see what you've all been up to whilst I've been away.

If you want to share your desk with some lovely folk, then just pop over to see our Desk Headmistress, Julia, HERE.

Happy Crafting!

Sheena's One Day Wonder

Afternoon lovely crafting friends. I hadn't realised I'd neglected my blog for so long. Life has become somewhat hectic over the last few weeks but, fingers crossed, it might be calming down a bit now so I hope to be a more regular blogger.

Anyway, I'm just popping by today to let you know that the very talented Sheena Douglass is back on Create and Craft this Thursday, March 12th with a One Day Wonder starting at 8am which includes some gorgeous embossing folders that partner the stamps and dies launched at the CHA along with some new stamps that are all pet related. I absolutely love these.

Here is a sneaky peek at a couple of the cards I made using both the folders and stamps.

I kept this one simple, colouring the dog with Spectrum noirs and picking out the detail on the folder with distress inks and spectrum pens.

Again the cat is coloured with spectrum noirs and everything else is distress inks.

Our cats have been enjoying the gorgeous spring like weather today. The sky has been as blue as on my card too. I just hope we get a bit more of it soon, it's great to be able to get out in the garden again.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!.

WOYWW 298

Morning dear WOYWW friends. Goodness, two weeks have flown by since I last visited, where does the time go? We are on half term this week so hopefully I will have lots of time to browse amongst all your desks!!

We had a crafty day yesterday with my friend Sue and her daughter. We decorated some MDF hearts and although I forgot to take some photos of the table with everyone in full flow, this was later in the day when we'd tidied up a bit and my DD was finishing hers off.

Here it is finished hanging on the mirror in her bedroom.

Lastly, just to give you a smile, I am in the middle of some more DT work for Sheena using her lovely dies and stamps and being new to die crafting I have discovered that it's a brilliant way to use up all those scraps of card I insist on keeping....trouble is I now keep every single bit no matter how small as I know I can use it, bit of a catch 22 but it's very satisfying to know that I'm not wasting ANYTHING!!!!!!

Well, that's me today. I'm off to get a fresh cuppa and then I'll be round to see what you've all be up to. If you want to join in this weekly desk hop, then pop over to see the lovely Julia, HERE.

Have a great Wednesday and Happy Crafting.

WOYWW 296

Afternoon dear WOYWW friends. I'm a little late joining up today. I start work much earlier these days so don't always get the chance to join in before I go. It's still freezing here although not much snow but the sun's shining so here's my desk today looking a little bit brighter.

I saw an article in Craft Stamper this month by the very talented Kay Carley and wanted to have a go at something similar so have been colouring with my Spectrum Noir pencils. I find them so much more relaxing than pens, I don't know why that should be. I've also been playing with some JOFY stamps Santa brought me.

This is the finished topper, which will find it's way on to a card eventually.

I'm sorry I missed last week, it was my birthday so I got involved in other stuff and didn't realise I'd missed WOYWW until Thursday....must be an age thing!!!

Anyway, you might remember the last time I shared my desk I was using up old card kits and these are two of the cards that I ended up with.

So, that's me this week. If you want to share your desk too, then pop over to see the lovely Julia, HERE.

I'm off to make a fresh cuppa and then I'll be round to see what you've been up too.

Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting.
