WOYWW 309

Morning dear WOYWW friends. I was amazed to realise that I haven't blogged a single thing on here for nearly a month, no wonder I've been getting lovely emails from my desk pals asking if I'm still breathing.....well as you can see I'm alive and kicking and just been very busy with DT stuff that I am only now nearly able to share and also having a lovely time in my garden so there hasn't been anything to show you.

I hope I find you all well this Wednesday and ready to share your desk. Here's mine as of yesterday afternoon.

A few weeks ago I discovered a new stamp company, Card-io, that make what I used to call peg stamps, you know, those tiny weeny stamps that build up to create a design. Anyway I was watching with fascination this lady demonstrating and blending pigment ink with dry baby wipes. A light bulb moment as I have many unloved pigment inks having preferred dye inks for many moons now, so after digging around in my craft room I found them, dusted off the cobwebs and have really enjoyed building up these designs. I made 6 cards in an afternoon!!

I also want to share an experiment with you. I'm constantly looking for projects for my Thursday Craft Club ladies and have been fascinated by all the book art I've been seeing lately and found instructions for a heart and this is how it turned out. I made it from a paperback which wouldn't stand up, so I've backed it with stiff cardboard inside and out and like the finished effect.

Well, I've shown you mine so I hope you share yours and I'll will be round for a look after work, so make sure you have the kettle on!!

If you want to join in all the WOYWW fun, then pop over to see our esteemed leader, Julia, HERE.

I know I've been absent for a while but I do know it was the WOYWW crop last Saturday so I look forward to seeing all the photos I hope you are sharing today if you were there.
Edit....oops thanks for pointing out it's next Saturday...silly me

Have a brilliant Wednesday and Happy Crafting

Hey there! Yes, it's good to see you back on the desks today but I do sympathise...it's been a mad few weeks for me too :-)
I love what you have been making though, especially that folded page heart, very clever.
The WOYWW crop is on May 16th btw, it was just Julia's coven cropping last week! I've got to get my cooking head on for that soon, haven't thought about it much yet!

Hi Lisa, those cards look beautiful and it is a clever idea building up all those little flowers to one big bouquet. The embellishments on the box are a mix of; metal, cardboard, paper silk flowers. Once you paint them with gesso, spray with mists and then a swipe of gold buff you can't spot the difference. Have a lovely week. Ps I love how your drawers came together.

I've tried (and dne) a lot of projects/experiments/techniques over the years, but heart-shaped book art... no... I LOVE how it came out and ohmy... i just added it to my "want-to-try-someday list" (which is looooongg!!!) I love how it looks!!! Thanks for stopping by my blog today and don't appologize for being late - I'm late all the time myself.... you know how it is: appointments, assignmens and getting caugh by a project so that you forget time... that's how we artists roll isn't it?! Happy - belated - woyww and a big hug from HOlland, Marit #25
