WOYWW 259

Morning lovely crafters and dear WOYWW friends. Long time no see. A good friend of mine, Sandra from Sydney reminded me that we are approaching another WOYWW birthday so I thought I'd better show my face!!!!

I have no crafty desk to share with you today, that has been sadly neglected over the past weeks but here is my workdesk.... which does contain paint.........so hopefully it counts.

We have had our bathroom ripped out and replaced with, amongst other things, a lovely sparkly huge shower. I love it, but you've never seen a mess like it. We seem to have been tiling for days, both walls and floor and I shall be back up there after posting this!!!! Yesterday I painted the walls. What do you think of the colour? DD and I love it but my poor Hubby isn't so sure, he's a bit more conservative. The only comment I got out of him was WOW!!! Still he'll get used to it, I'm not changing it, harsh I know.

We have used dark tiles, they still need grouting so don't look too closely!!

Well, that's my workdesk.... of sorts. I'm sure yours is more exciting and I'll be round to have a look later once those tiles are on the wall.

If you want to join in with WOYWW then pop over to see the lovely Julia, HERE.

By the way, I will be joining in with the ATC celebrations so if you want to swap with me, just shout out.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting.

Another Sheena Sample

Morning lovely Crafters

I hope you've got your wellies on if you are venturing out. It's a wet start to the weekend here in Yorkshire.

I'm just popping by with another card I made for Sheena's new shows on Monday.

This took a couple of goes to get right and was a technique I found on Pinterest. The background is blended distress inks, I used bright colours, Barn Door, Mustard Seed, Mown Lawn and Ocean. Versamark was then applied to the debossed side of the embossing folder and the card run through. Clear embossing powder was heat set and then I applied Chipped Sapphire over the top to highlight the debossed areas. Originally I used Black soot but didn't like the starkness and found chipped sapphire gave a softer result.

The highlighted elephant has been cut from another piece of embossed card and the same inks applied.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting.

A Little Bit Of Embossing

Afternoon lovely Crafters

I'm just popping by to let you know that our Sheena is on C&C next Monday at 9am and 3pm with the Indian Embossing Folders from her recent 4DD. She is promising new techniques!

Here is one of the samples I made for the show.

This is one of the papers from the CD that has been embossed with the Ornate screen folder that has had versamark applied to it first. I tried the glycerine but didn't put enough on so went back to versamark. I then heat embossed with silver embossing powder and went over any areas that had missed with glycerine and a paintbrush and embossed again. I like the way that you can pick out certain areas with this method.

The rest of the team have created some gorgeous projects as usual and you can find links to their blogs here.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend. It sounds like it's going to be perfect crafting weather!

We Have a Teenager!!

Hello folks. Goodness I hadn't realised it was so long since I last posted anything, where do the weeks go?

Yesterday our DD turned 13!! A teenager at last. It doesn't seem two minutes since we were bringing her home from hospital and know she's as tall as me!

Well a special birthday deserves a special card so I had a play with a card in a box, which seems to be the in thing at the minute. My fellow Inkoid Donna made several recently and has a brilliant tutorial on her blog so once I got started it was really easy to put together, thanks Donna.

This is the end result.

I shall definitely be having another go at these, I really enjoyed creating it.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting

Are You Enjoying India?

Evening lovely Bloggers. Hasn't it been a beautiful day again? This weather is just perfect. We've been out and about making the most of the school holidays. I hope it lasts until the Bank Holiday weekend.

Have you managed to catch any of Sheena's Indian shows on C&C? She has been doing some brilliant techniques which I'm itching to try out.

It's her last day tomorrow so I thought I'd share a couple of my projects that she's had on the display. It's always such a buzz to see them there, especially when the samples from the rest of the team are absolutely stunning.

This hanger started out as a card but just grew too big to fit anything I had so developed into a hanger as it went along.

The background is a gloss gel medium resist with h20's painted on top. The Elephants are painted with H20's too. The background is one of the A4 embossing folders with gilding wax applied.

My canvas was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest which used these gorgeous colour tones.

I started by blending the acrylic paints onto the base of the canvas and then stamped the arches onto tissue and coloured them with promarkers very lightly before sticking them to the canvas with a matt medium. I painted over with more of the base colours to blend in the tissue and pick out more detail. I then stamped lots of the other images in the same way and just built up the design. Some of the flowers are painted with Luminarte silks. I picked out some detail with white acyclic paint and then added the gold embossing and the trailing vines and flowers. It was a case of knowing when to stop. I'm still not sure whether I went one step too far. I may well have another crack at something similar and try and make it a bit simpler.

Thanks for all the lovely comments you have been leaving, I really appreciate them.

Happy Crafting.

Just One More Day

Morning lovely Bloggers. I'm glad you are liking these Indian sneaky peeks. Thank you so much for your lovely comments. I do appreciate them.  They really are a beautiful collection and along with the embossing folders and paper collection work really well together.

I promised you something different in the colour department today so I hope you like this one.

Again I've mixed the henna stamps with this lovely chappie and used one of the embossing folders for the background. Wild Honey crept in again but this time I've used mainly Seedless Preserve distress ink and the tiger is coloured with promarkers.

Only one more day to go to Sheen'a shows!!

I hope you are enjoying the weekend. I'm hoping to get in the garden today and get some veg into my newly prepared beds at last.

Thanks for stopping by.

Another Indian Sneaky Peek

Morning lovely Bloggers. Just a quick share today of another card I made for Sheena's 4DD starting on Monday.

A little bit different today. I used one of the gorgeous Henna Stamps and built up a pattern on one of the lovely backing papers that form part of the new launch that have been designed by Sheena and the Inkoids. Sounds like a new super group doesn't it?

I tried to used traditional Henna colours and love the orange and turquoise combination. Can you spot a theme occurring after yesterdays post? I promise I have used different colours for other cards and will try to make sure I share something very different tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Saturday.

A Warm Indian Breeze

Morning lovely Bloggers. Friday at last. I hope you are looking forward to the weekend.

I'm just popping by with another card I made with Sheena's new Taste Of India stamps that will be launched on Monday at 8am if you are up bright and early.

This one was my favourite of all the samples I made. You know when things just work out better than you planned. Well, this was one of those.

It's the tried and tested bleached Distress ink technique and I used Peacock Feathers and Wild Honey, I just love that combination, with the Indian Arches stamp. I've also used several of the other stamp sets in the background and then coloured the flowers with H20s before cutting them out and arranging them on the vines.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

A Taste Of India

Morning lovely Bloggers. I hope I find you well today. It's a beautiful sunny morning here in Yorkshire  and I can't believe how beautiful the blossom and all the spring flowers are looking. Spring certainly seems to have arrived early this year.

I have been cocooned in my craft room for the past couple of weeks, hence the lack of blogging activity, playing with a new 4 day deal launch Sheena has on C&C next Monday all based on India. There are some gorgeous stamps, embossing folders and even a paper pack designed by us Inkoids, how cool is that!!

Here is one of my samples using one of the beautiful Henna stamps. It's really hard to pick a favourite stamp but this has to be one of them.

I used some of the Distress paint experiments I was playing with some weeks ago and added Wild Honey ink to it to stamp the image on, which is then painted with H20's.

The background is more Distress Paint on the Pearly side of the Centura card with embossing powder added to the embossed areas.

I hope you like it. I will be back tomorrow with another sneaky peek, believe me I have plenty to show you, I've absolutely loved playing with these.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting.

Where's all this lovely weather?

Morning lovely Bloggers. Can we have some of the warm sunshine here in Yorkshire that the rest of the country seem to have please??? The lovely weather people keep saying it's been the warmest weekend of the year so far....well not here it's not!!

Anyway, despite the weather I had a lovely Mother's Day visiting both my Mums. We are lucky that they live very close so could spend time with both. Silly me forgot to took photos of the cards I made for them but I might have to pop round and take a sneaky one for you!!

I was also very blessed in receiving a beautiful handmade card from my DD and a set of stamps. I also had my tea made for me and was allowed to spend some time crafting, a perfect day.

I hope you enjoyed your day as much.

Thanks for popping by and Happy Crafting!
