WOYWW 172

Hello lovely Crafters and WOYWW friends. I'm not going to say how fast that week went by as we all know it flew. I'm getting up a good hour earlier and still there are not enough hours in the day. Anyway, as it's Wednesday again, my favourite day of the week, it's time for that weekly dose of interesting and inspirational desks. If you haven't yet discovered this wonderful place we all visit every week, then pop over to see the Desk Headmistress, Julia, HERE, who'll fill you in on all the details.

Here's my desk this morning. I've been playing with something I rarely do and that's the little Tilda girls. I discovered some images that had been stamped out for me and decided to make them up into cards.  I seem to be using the shove it to the right technique with everything looking at this. Do you like my Smartie calculator I rescued from DD. Very handy for someone like me who has trouble with the tiny buttons they insist on putting on gadgets these days!!

Here's the finished card.

It's not elaborate like you see around the gorgeous Magnolia blogs but I can't seem to do those but it'll be fine for my card box and find a good home I'm sure.

Well, nice and brief again this week. If you stopped by earlier and wondered where the rest of the post was, I typed the first paragraph last night before Great British Bake Off and scheduled it to post this morning and then forgot to come back and finish it, so apologies. It's all here now.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Wednesday. It's a beautiful start to the day here in Yorkshire if a bit chilly.

More Sheena Sneaky Peeks

Afternoon all. How are you this Thursday? Is it just me or has it turned a tad chilly???? I'm freezing. Was it only last week that we were sitting in the garden basking in Summer!! Well, never mind, maybe a bit more crafting will get done.

Here are a couple more cards I made for Sheena's Create and craft shows tomorrow. These really are beautiful stamps and the rest of the DT have done some stunning things with them so don't forget to catch the shows if you can. They are scheduled for 11am, 2pm and 6pm.

I used the mistletoe to make a very simple card really. It has just been decoupaged with a bit of sparkly stuff added. I also stamped up the organza ribbon although I'm not sure about using black ink, a colour may have looked better.

This second one is my favourite. I love this postbox. It come on a set with another stamp so is very versatile.

I decoupaged it again after colouring it with promarkers and adding glossy accents. The background was a happy accident but I just love this colour combination and will definitely be using it again. It's Broken China and Walnut Stain distress inks with gold pearl radiant rain sprayed over the top. I think it works with the red perfectly.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend

WOYWW 171

Morning lovely crafters and dear WOYWW friends. Is it really time again  for that lovely get together of friendly desks? These weeks just fly by. If you haven't discovered this wonderful place yet, then what are you waiting for? Pop over to see our Desk Headmistress, the lovely Julia, HERE, but be warned it's totally addictive once you start.

I'm afraid my desk is an absolute tip today. I hang my head in shame. I am madly finishing off some DT work and always think of one last thing to do even though the envelope should already be in the post!!! Why do we do it to ourselves???

I wasn't tipsy when I took the photo, it was just very early and I don't think I was properly awake.

To prove that we've had Summer at last I took some photos on Saturday afternoon in the garden and thought I'd share them with you. I love teasels, although they can be a bit brutish and take over but aren't the seed heads amazing?

Here's DD in her favourite spot ( my deck chair) with her nose in a book.

Short and sweet from me today as I'm off to do some work experience this morning. It's 11 years since I did any proper work and I need to get back to it but have realised how rusty and lacking in confidence I have become so I'm going to practise in DD's old Primary school office for a while. I'll try and pop by and say hello later in the day

Thanks for stopping by and have a Crafty Wednesday

Sheena Sneaky Peaks

Evening lovely Crafters. I hope I find you well this Tuesday. The Indian Summer seems to have slipped away from Yorkshire today. It has been much cooler with some really heavy showers. Although the sunshine has made an appearance which has created some stunning rainbows.

I have been playing with some new Christmas stamps from Sheena Douglass which are being launched on Create and Craft on Friday. If you like traditional Christmas images then you are going to love these. I've thoroughly enjoyed getting messy with them.

Here are the first two using the snowy cottage.

I treated this one very simply just using Distress ink to give a monochrome effect. The backing panel is made with chipped sapphire and faded jeans distress inks and wet cling film on the Centura pearl. It gives a beautiful effect.

For this one I coloured the cottage with pro markers and then masked it off before applying distress inks to the sky and spraying with Luminarte gold radiant rain.

It's hard to get a good photo but this shows the glitter on the image with the mica sky a bit better.

Thanks for stopping by and I would just like to sign off with a special thought for all those effected by today's date. May it always be remembered.

WOYWW 170

Morning lovely Crafters and WOYWW friends. Blimey, is it Wednesday again?????? Something like normality has returned to The Craft Garden. DD started Secondary school yesterday and all seemed to go well although all they did was learn about procedures I think. She looked soooooo smart in her new uniform and all grown up. Trouble is her very first lesson ever today is PE, can you believe it, so there's no knowing what she'll look like when she gets home tonight. Yes, that is just a Mother worrying!!!!

It's another beautiful morning here in Yorkshire, it looks like Summer has finally arrived, and there was sun shining on my desk when I took this photo earlier although you can't really tell.

I've not much to show this week. Just some quick cards from a QVC kit I bought a while ago to bulk up the cards that I have for sale. They have been sadly neglected of late and need refreshing.

I also managed to finish the LO I was working on last week so thought I'd show you the finished thing.

Nice and brief this week, I've so many things to catch up on and am desperate to enjoy some of this sunshine  so I'll be round to see your desks hopefully a bit later on.

If you want to share your desks, big or small, messy or neat, then pop over to see the Desk Headmistress, Julia, the lady who keeps this rowdy rabble of WOYWWers in order, HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty Wednesday.

A Snowflake Or Two

Evening lovely Crafters. I hope I find you well this chilly Thursday. Someone told me today that September is supposed to be hot and sunny. I do hope so, it's been freezing here today.

It seemed fitting to share with you two of the samples I made for Sheena using her snowflake stamps, another of the four that will be launched tomorrow.

This first one was very simple and just used one of three large snowflakes with the sentiment.

With this one I think I used them all, there are three large and three small snowflakes, along with a lovely swirl and sentiment to play with. I painted the background with the rainy day blue pourables and then embossed the snowflakes on top using various colours of embossing powder.

All four sets are very different from each other. Along with the snowflakes and flutterbies I've already shown you, there is one full of fairies and ivy leaves and another with pine forests on so something for everyone. Don't forget to catch the shows on Create and Craft at 11am, 1pm and 6pm.

Thanks for stopping by.

WOYWW 169

Morning lovely Crafters and dear WOYWW friends. Woo hoo I'm back and raring to get snooping round all your lovely desks. Boy have I missed my weekly does of WOYWW and all the friends I get to chat with on a Wednesday. If you want to join in then pop over to see our Desk Headmistress, Julia, HERE.

So, without further ado, here's my desk this morning.

I have a mountain of photos of scrap after our holidays and I've made a start with one of our favourite days when we spent the day racing down a mountain on a summer tobaggan run. Great fun. I want to use bright colours and love this bright orange, not a colour I use very often but am taming it down slightly with purple. I'm going to paint the corrugated cardboard with purple H20's, well that's the plan anyway.

I'm keeping this brief just for you, Julia so that I can spend more time catching up with everyone so see you soon.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Wednesday.

Fluttering By With Some Sheena Peeks

Evening lovely Crafty Friends. It's been a beautiful day here in Yorkshire today and I've had a much needed afternoon in the garden taming the Jungle. It's so nice to be outside again.

I've even seen some butterflies, which seem to be very rare this Summer so it was a delight to create more with one of the new stamp sets from Sheena Douglass being launched on Create and Craft this Friday, 31st August. This one is full of Butterflies and Dragonflies from very large stamps to small ones and they really are a joy to work with.

Here are two of the cards I created with them.

I used Distress Inks to create a background and dropped the new Luminarte pourables onto it to create lovely shiny splodges before using the sentiment stamp. The butterflies are also painted with the pourables.

With this one the dragonfly was painted with the pourables and I made a masking tape ribbon with them before stamping the small dragonfly on top. Masking tape is my new discovery at the minute!!!

There are four new sets being launched altogether and they are all as yummy as this one. The shows are scheduled for 10am, 1pm and 6pm so I hope you'll be able to catch one if not all of them.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you tomorrow when I'll be back for my much needed fix of workdesks. Oh I have missed them.

Austrian Crafting Goodies

Afternoon lovely Crafty friends. I hope you have enjoyed your Bank Holiday weekend if you live South of the Border despite the weather. I had promised myself a day in the garden yesterday as the weathermen said it'd be a dry day but as soon as I got out the heavens opened again. We haven't had a dry day all weekend. It's so dark now we have the lights on and it's only 6pm!!!! Still we hit the shops today and had a lovely time so it's not all doom and gloom.

I'm sorry I've been such a bad blogger lately. Life has interfered somewhat and I know I haven't done much blog hopping to see what you've all been up too. I really hope to get back to normal come September so hope you'll bear with me.

In the meantime, as I said in my last post, I was delighted to find a craft shop while we were on holiday in Mayrhofen in Austria and had to make several visits as they had some gorgeous things that we can't get here.

Here's my little haul. These beautiful wooden embellishments while be perfect on scrapbook layouts I have planned.

I also unearthed a brilliant shop in Innsbruck last time we were there that sold ribbon so I had to make a return visit with my euros at the ready. There is over 100m here all for the princely sum of about 15 euro which is around £12. What a bargain. My ribbon tower has now become even more precarious!!! I just need to find some spare hours in the day to play with it all!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a good week.

Back To The Rain

Morning lovely Crafting friends. I hope I find you well this Monday morning.

I'm just popping by to say Hello and sorry to have been absent for a while. We've been on our holidays to beautiful Austria for the last two weeks but are now back to reality and the rain!!!!!!!

We had heard reports that the Austrian weather was rainy too before we went but were delighted to find the sunshine when we stepped off the plane at Innsbruck Airport and it stayed with us for the whole two weeks and just got hotter and hotter. We left cloudless blue skies and 35oC on Saturday and of course it's done nothing but rain here in Yorkshire since we got home so I have wet washing draped all over the house!!!! Lovely!!!

I shall be back with something crafty when I've got my life in order but thought I'd just leave you with this photo I took of beautiful Mayrhofen, the town we stayed in. If you ever want a holiday with lots to do in a stunning location this is definitely the place to go. Oh.... and there is even a craft shop, more of that later in the week!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your week goes well.

Happy Crafting.
