WOYWW 292

Morning dear WOYWW friends and a Happy New Year to you all. I hope 2015 is a good one for us all.

I can't believe the Festive period is now firmly behind us and we are heading steadily into January. Still it's really good to be back amongst the workdesks again.

Here is mine as of yesterday afternoon in some very welcome sunshine.

My New Years Resolution is not to buy any new craft stuff but use and explore the masses I already have, which is exactly what I'm doing at the minute. I bought a box of Brushos months ago and they sat unopened but not any more. That pile of backgrounds is proof of that. My daughter and I have had a brilliant time sprinkling and spraying with them, fascinated by the effects you can create and I am now attempting to actually make something out of all our experimenting. Hopefully I will get a bit more time later today to finish what I've started. This is hopefully going to be part of a cover for a book to keep all my stamps in.

You might also be able to spot the remnants of our Christmas cake in the background....yes that pile of crumbs!!!!!

This is what it did look like.

We whipped up the royal icing so well that we've almost had to use a pneumatic drill to get through it, it's so hard, tasted good though.

My daughter also decorated her first gingerbread house...... that tasted good too. I think it's time to start that diet now!

Well that's me for today. If you want to share your work desk with lots of lovely like minded people, then pop over to see the lovely Julia, HERE.

I'll be round to see what you've all been up to later after work.

Thanks for popping by and Happy Crafting!

It's another day of juggling for me today....I have Lexi one side of me building with the Knex and Sam is the other side doing jigsaws so I'm popping round some of my favourite blogs while they play happily 😃
What a fab Christmas cake and gingerbread house.

Hi Lisa
Wishing you a wonderfully creative 2015. Looks like you are off to a great start with your Brushos. Another woyww has also got a set and I am curious to see what you do with them. Love all the shades of blue markers and your dryer tones in beautifully:)

Hi Lisa! My resolution is not to buy any new craft products either (unless I desperately need it). Problem is I always desperately need it, LOL. See, here I am looking at Brusho on Ebay! Yummy cakes in the photos! I know they're just a distant memory now! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #27

Oh wow, I love that gingerbread house - it looks amazing! I'd rather eat that than the Christmas cake too, if I'm honest. Well done to your gal for decorating it so well, she did a great job :-)
I'm going to take a leaf out of your book and sort through my fabric stash and use it up. I'm quite low on the furnishing fabric I use for totes, but am sure I can patchwork the remnants to make something usable. I have lots of fat quarters though, they need sorting out!

Wow, cake and gingerbread house - yum! Both look marvellous, I bet the house will be a new tradition now!
I do like the brusho colours, and that you can turn play stuff into something as well - double good playtime!

What an adorable ginger house! I am a gingerbread house maker and lover, so thanks for sharing that. So glad to find some fellow stash dashers too. I think at the end of the year I just realized that I had done way more craft shopping than crafting possibly! Thanks for stopping by earlier and have a great Wednesday. Hugs! Sandy Leigh #60

Yummy cakes! I love that ginger bread house. I bet that was lovely.
That's a good resolution (Not buying any new stuff) I hope you can keep it up. Such resolutions for me are very unrealistic as there is always something I want... Fortunately I now live in rural Spain and can't get supplies for love nor money unless I have it shipped from the UK...
Have a good week,

That gingerbread house looks amazing!!! Mine never come out looking that good, and usually fall apart, lol! I'm trying to use what I have and really limit further spending. We're saving for our upcoming move and many things will already have to be put into storage - EEKS!!! I have too much stuff!

Happy Crafting!

I don't gain weight just by looking at that marvelous cakes now do I?? Because I, too, need to get rid of a few pounds... I guess we all have that problem after the holidays. I love that you use your 'old' materials so beautifully... have fun exploring and discovering 'oldies' (I know from experience when I dive in my old stuff, I always discover 'new' things that I've forgot all about... it's fun!)Happy New Year, happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #40

I keep reading about these brusho's and need to look into them further but they are not available here in Australia. They do look and sound like fun. Lovely cake and gingerbread house. I made a sleigh set with my daughter this last christmas and we around going to make a christmas train this coming year it has already been decided, nothing like planning ahead.

thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week.

Happy WOYWW

I also made the resolution not to buy anything... But I needed gesso and you can guess how that went! Should use more of what I have anyway:) i love having readymade backgrounds at hand: sometimes I realize one should fit in a project, and I don't have to work on that phase, but more often so that I take the background and start wondering how to get it used...

Hi Lisa,

Your daughter did a great job on the gingerbread house. I didn't realize people actually ate them though. I thought they were sprayed with something that made them into a permanent decoration?

I'm having a giveaway so stop by if you are interested.
Happy belated WOYWW
