Hello lovely Crafters. I hope you have all survived this amazing weather we had yesterday. The scenes on the TV last night were incredible. Thankfully, we didn't even have a spot of rain here and today it's much fresher.
Over at The Stampman it's time for a new challenge and this time we are thinking about Bling.
For my DT project I didn't go with the usual jewels and glitter Bling but added some lovely shimmer and lustre instead.
I coloured this beautiful Stampendous Cling mermaid with promarkers and then applied glossy accents so that the distress inks could be added over the top. The whole thing was sprayed with mica powder and I love how it ran over the glossy accents making a very watery effect. The whole thing was edged with Artemio swirls and Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder.
DD has been so fed up since getting back from her Northumberland holiday last week, she enjoyed it so much, that I've made it into a hanger for her to cheer her up. She loves anything to do with mermaids and fairies so it's now hanging in her bedroom.
The rest of the DT have created some stunning work so I hope you'll pop over to the challenge blog and have a look and, as always, Jill is offering a £10 voucher to spend at The Stampman website for the winner so we look forward to seeing all your sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend whatever the weather.

Stunning Lisa, am sure DD will love it as well! We didn't have that much rain yesterday, think it's been worse up north! Would like nice warm sunshine now for the garden! Have a good weekend. Jill x

Lisa this is a stunning piece of work. That Mermaid is gorgeous and not at all sickly sweet. Your DD is a lucky girl!

Yes, I'm a huge shimmer fan, so I love this. The colour blending is gorgeous too.
Wow! This is stunning Lisa! I bet it cheered Freya up no end! Meg's finally finished exams and has spent the entire weekend drawing. The rain was a bit dramatic wasn't it? I gave up trying to teach about 11.30 Thursday morning and told them to just go and look out of the window! They couldn't hear what I was saying anyway!!!
Stunning image, the shimmer suits her.
I have had a full blown cold for the last week & spent half my weekend asleep. The weather has been terrible & I just stayed in my warm bed.
Oh Lisa...that is simply ~ STUNNING!! Absolutely beautiful work, as always and I should think your DD was over the moon with it!!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend...

Wonderful creation Lisa ...the glimmering water is just simply gorgeous. Thanks so much for your well wishes for Caleb. We seem to have gone from one extreme to another. He is back up at Yorhill this week for an MRI of his spine as they want to check for nerve damage as a possible cause of his problems. Anyway he'll be happy as it doesn't include a needle or a pointy thing as he refers to it!
We certainly have had some wild weather. Our planned overnight camping trip had to be cancelled (wasn't too disappointed) lol Cheers Claire x
This is fantastic Lisa, I love the colouring.
hugs Kimx
Beautiful hanger Lisa, I'll bet that cheered your Daughter up:0)
Thanks for your encouraging comments, very much appreciated:0) Gay xxx
I so love your mermaid she really is beautiful and I believe far better IRL sometimes the camera just doesn't capture all it should. Thanks for sharing.

Fairies and Mermaids are right up my street too Lisa, and this one is gorgeous! Love the colours and the shimmer, and the "bubble" border is a very clever choice for your watery theme.
See you soon - Hugs, Sylvia xx
