Shabby Chic or Distressed at The Stampman

Hello lovely Crafters. What a wet couple of days we've had here in Yorkshire. I know we need the rain but I can't wait for the sunshine to put in an appearance again.

Still, it's perfect crafting weather and time for a new challenge with The Stampman. Brenda has asked us to be Shabby Chic or Distressed this time. I definitely think I'm more distressed than chic so this is my DT project.

I used another Stampendous Cling stamp. These are a recent discovery and are quickly becoming firm favourites. I have a lot of favourites you might have noticed!!

I teemed it with lots of different papers that have been sprayed with Starburst Stains but I can't tell you all the colours as they were done some time ago, some stamped vellum and a flower made from the Tattered florals die.

The flower is just cartridge paper that has been splodged with more stain. I rarely buy flowers these days as these are so easy and cheap to make.

The rest of the DT have created some stunning projects so don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog for a peek and Jill is offering a £10 Voucher to spend at The Stampman website for the winner as usual so I hope you'll have a play along with us this time.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend whatever you are up to, just make sure you take an umbrella if you live in the UK.

A beautiful distressed (and very Chic) card Lisa - love the colours and the gorgeous stamped postcard.
I do hope the sunshine has now reached your part of West Yorkshire Lisa - it's been beautiful in this corner of WY today, and not a drop of rain in sight (I will probably regret saying that, when it snows this afternoon)!!!!
Have a great weekend - hugs, Sylvia xx

Well I think you have combined the shabby chic with the distressed perfectly here Lisa. I love the colours you have chosen and the fabulous layers of colour. I know what you mean about flowers, I sat making some for a project last night. Tip if you haven't tried it before - use water colour paper sometimes, it mists and scrunches fabulously. As for my fabric flower - I just used some thin tulle or netting and a piece of cream fabric I picked up in a bargain bin at our local fabric shop - sorry don't know what it actually is called.
Have a great weekend.

Tres Shabby Chic mon amie! This is gorgeous Honey. Loving it. I know what you mean about the flowers. I have loads still in the jar/packet because I would rather make them! I must use them though so I can reuse the jars!
I certainly don't mind the rain but does it have to be soooooo cold! Brrr! Have a good weekend.

I love the beautiful Stampendous image Lisa. Wonderful colours too and a perfect distressed & shabby chic look to your gorgeous card. The flower is really lovely and I love all the layers.

We've had some really heavy downpours over the past week with lots of hail and quite a bit of thunder mixed in with some sunshine. Today has been miserable all day though.

Hugs
