WOYWW 151

Hello lovely Crafters and dear WOYWW friends. Here we are at Wednesday again which can only mean one thing. It's time for some desk nosiness. If you want to join in this Wednesday tradition then you need to pop over to see our Desk Headmistress, Julia, HERE and get yourself on the register and prepare to meet some fantastic and varied crafting desks and their owners.

This is my first post on the new fangled Blogger so I hope I've got it right, it's taking me some time to find my way around, I don't know about you but it all seems a bit confusing at the minute.

I thought I'd show you the other side of my desk this week. I'm in the middle of making some Flower Fairy cards that were printed from a CD. DH brought home a new wireless printer some time ago as our old one had a bit of a mind of it's own. I had several inks to use up for it and so printed off loads of photos and paper and images which was a rare treat as I'm normally quite careful with the amount of ink I use.

You might also be able to spot my guilty pleasure, the bag of Sour chewy sweets, which I love. There is one glaring omission though, the ever present mug of something. I need to put that right straight away!!!!

Well, that's me for this week so thanks for stopping by. I'm off to spend a lovely hour or so now seeing what everyone else has been up too.

Happy Crafting.

Shabby Chic or Distressed at The Stampman

Hello lovely Crafters. What a wet couple of days we've had here in Yorkshire. I know we need the rain but I can't wait for the sunshine to put in an appearance again.

Still, it's perfect crafting weather and time for a new challenge with The Stampman. Brenda has asked us to be Shabby Chic or Distressed this time. I definitely think I'm more distressed than chic so this is my DT project.

I used another Stampendous Cling stamp. These are a recent discovery and are quickly becoming firm favourites. I have a lot of favourites you might have noticed!!

I teemed it with lots of different papers that have been sprayed with Starburst Stains but I can't tell you all the colours as they were done some time ago, some stamped vellum and a flower made from the Tattered florals die.

The flower is just cartridge paper that has been splodged with more stain. I rarely buy flowers these days as these are so easy and cheap to make.

The rest of the DT have created some stunning projects so don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog for a peek and Jill is offering a £10 Voucher to spend at The Stampman website for the winner as usual so I hope you'll have a play along with us this time.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend whatever you are up to, just make sure you take an umbrella if you live in the UK.

WOYWW 150

Morning lovely Crafters and WOYWW friends. I have been absent from the role call for the last couple of weeks due to the Easter Hols. We didn't go anywhere but I had the luxury of everyone being at home, which was a lovely surprise as Hubby was due to be away both weeks but his trips were cancelled. It's a wonder you couldn't hear me cheering from your house!!! Anyway, I decided to have a little break from blogging as well so that we could spend some quality time together, so bear with me while I try to catch up with all I've missed.

It's great to be back among the world of WOYWW. If you haven't discovered it yet, then pop over to see the Desk Headmistress, Julia, HERE, but beware, it's highly addictive. My desk today is my usual mess. I realised that my trays at the end are almost as messy as my greenhouse shelves with all sorts of things balanced precariously!!!

There's definitely plenty of work in progress. I needed some quick cards to restock my supplies and have discovered that if I put my mind to it I can be quite productive these days. This is the card that's on the desk using one of my favourite stamps from Impression Obssession and Stormy Sky Distress ink and not much else.

Bearing in mind Julia's missive to be brief I thought I'd just leave you with a glimpse of the gorgeous tulips we've been enjoying in the garden. I didn't replant any last Autumn and thought there wouldn't be so many this year but they have proved me wrong and been brilliant. I do so love the Spring.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Vellum

Afternoon lovely Crafters. I think we have had three seasons in one week here in Yorkshire. We started off with Summer at the weekend, followed by winter on Wednesday with snow and biting winds. I've never known such an icy wind, it's flattened all the beautiful Tulips but hopefully they will recover. And back to something near warm sunshine again yesterday. That sneaky wind was still there but if you stayed sheltered in the sunshine it was beautiful. Let's hope the Easter weekend is kind to us all.

Now on to all things crafty. We have the theme of Vellum this time at The Stampman and here's my DT project.

I knew I wanted to make some vellum flowers, something I discovered quite recently and absolutely love and originally made a huge flower with all the Tattered floral dies but soon realised it was far too big for this lovely Stampendous stamp so I went with just the tiniest one but frilled all the edges to make them look a bit different.

The yellow panel is embossed vellum run through the Cuttlebug and then inked over with distress ink, which is what I used to colour the image before adding some glossy accents.

The rest of the DT have come up with some gorgeous ways of using vellum so it's well worth popping over to the challenge blog for a peek and Mrs Stampman is offering a £10 voucher for the winner as always.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a lovely Easter. I've seen the Easter Bunny hopping about already laden down with all things chocolaty so I'll be sure to send him your way.

Animal Crackers

Afternoon lovely Bloggers. It's a sign the schools have broken up for Easter, the weather has changed back to grey, cool and damp. Lets hope it brightens up for the weekend at least. We have lots of garden plans to be put into action but they'll all be put on hold if it rains!!!

During the gorgeous weather last week I had some DT projects on the go for Sheena Douglasss and kept popping inside to do a bit in between the sunbathing!!

I can share them with you now as Sheena will be releasing them on Create and Craft tomorrow so look out for her shows.

They are called "A Little Bit Different" and I bet they make you smile.

I love this duck, coming from the Midlands "Me Ducks" is a term of endearment close to my heart.

Well, short and sweet from me today, I'm trying to catch up on all the jobs that went by the wayside last week due to the sunshine so thanks for stopping by and enjoy your week.
